Potentially unpopular opinion, but I trust people who tell you not to read the thing much, much less than people who tell you you should totally read the thing. Sure, sometimes the thing is boring and stupid and doesn’t live up to its reputation, but reading it and forming your own opinion of it is always better than accepting someone else’s rant at face value.

***Amazing Language Resource***
I just found a new language resource that I am super, super excited about and wanted to share with you guys.
So reading books in a language, as you all probably know, is one of the best methods of learning for intermediate learners. At the beginning you have to look up tonssss of words, but by the end it’s a whole lot easier.
The biggest headache for that method though is the time it takes to find an adequate translation. Especially if you’re like me and are easily distracted.
In comes www.dictionaries.io
It’s an $8 app for mac that allows you to add bidirectional bilingual dictionaries to your mac’s hardware.
For instance, if I click on an English word, in addition to the Apple Dictionary giving me a definition, it also translates the word into (for me, it’s obviously customizable) Spanish, Russian, and French. (note: apple has a couple bilingual dictionaries, I think for French, Russian, and German, but they’re only unidirectional)
Where this is particularly useful is when I’m reading books in other languages. For example, I have the entire Harry Potter series on PDF in Russian, French, and Spanish. Now, when reading and I don’t know a word, all I have to do is click on it to get multiple accurate translations into English.
This is absolutely worth every dime of the $8. Hope this helps you guys!
i pity the fool who faces an ocean of knowledge and doesn't dare to swim in it.
Life is too short to only know one language
I wish to roam, fly to the sky along with a butterfly
I wish to explore, seek something new as time passes by
However heart can never lie
Where loves are given
Affections are delivered
Denote the exceptional place that can never be replaced
It's a family
There will always be so many places to stay, but home is the only best one to come back.
