The days after that flew past.

日々(hibi) - every day, daily

飛ぶ(tobu) - to fly, to soar

過ぎる(sugiru) - to pass through,to go beyond,過ぎた(sugita) - past form

"Tatoeba"

(例えば) tatoeba - for example,for instance

Eg.sentence

Watashi wa tatoeba Itaria ya Supein nado gaikoku de ikitai. 私は例えばイタリアやスペインなど外国へ行きたい。

I want to go abroad, for instance, to Italy and Spain.

私(watashi) - I,me

イタリア(Itaria) - Italy

スペイン(Supein) - Spain

など(nado) - and so forth,etc

外国(gaikoku) - foreign country

行く(iku) - to go,行きたい(ikitai) - desire to go

"Warau"

(笑う) warau - to laugh

Eg.sentence

Kurasu no mono mina ga kare no jōdan ni waratta. クラスのもの皆が彼の冗談に笑った。

The whole class laughed at his joke.

クラス(kurasu) - classroom

もの(mono) - thing, matter

皆(mina) - everyone, everybody

彼(kare) - he,him

冗談(jōdan) - joke, funny story

笑った(waratta) - past form

言う(iu) - to say,to declare

Eg.sentence

`Min'na hitoyasumi shiyou ze' to Jon wa itta 「みんなひと休みしようぜ」とジョンは言った。

John said, "Hey guys, let's take a break."

みんな(minna) - everyone, everybody

ひと休み(hitoyasumi) - break,(short)rest

しよう(shiyou) - application, way, method

言った(itta) - past form

"Ukeru"

(受ける)ukeru - to receive; to get

Eg.sentence

65-Sai ijō no hito-tachi wa seifu kara nenkin o ukete iru. ６５歳以上の人たちは政府から年金を受けている。

People of 65 and above get a pension from the government..

歳(sai) - year,age

以上(ijō) - not less than, above

人(hito) - person

たち(tachi) - plural suffix

政府(seifu) - government, administration

から(kara) - from, because

年金(nenkin) - annuity, pension

受けて(ukete) - connective form

いる(iru) - to exist(there is)
