Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD. Psalms 27:14
We are living in an age of speed. We want what we want and we want it now. Cars go faster than ever, computers process data faster, one can get more information in minutes than you could in days just 50 years ago. TV, radio blare 15 and 30 second commercials, TV shows solve problems in 30 minutes, less when you take out the commercial breaks.
Too many people expect God and their life to work the same way. Patience is not only a virtue. It is vital to your spiritual growth and maturity. Much of the important things of life do not happen instantly. Many of the phases of life can not be skipped or ignored without penalty.
Since the rest of the world may not be in the hurry we are in, we end up waiting behind them anyhow!
Learn patience. Learn to wait on the Lord. Give him a chance to work that situation out for you. Wait, I say, on the Lord!
