I hate being bad at things. Like, I do not mind being bad at things I don't choose to do, but being bad at things where I end up just having to deal with a shitty final project drives me mad.
(This is why I started learning to knit and took a hard turn into crochet, where I can easily take out a portion of a project and redo it.)
I am trying to really get into sewing, embroidery, mending and eventually actually pulling out my weak and busted up old sewing machine. It has been hard to admit my first projects will be bad.
But I realized something. Quality is so fucking low in relation to new clothing, that my own shitty sewing will actually not stick out that much. Sure, it won't look like a high-end quality piece, but it won't look any worse than something bought in the $5 bin at Target or off fucking Shein.
I was today years old when I found out highlighters can get moldy 😭 RIP blue highlighter…🫡 You will be missed.
Fun fact: the spanish equivalent of "break a leg" is "mucha mierda" which translates to "lots of shit".
This because in the golden age of theater, people still moved in carriages. So, when a play was really good, there were lots of carriages in line. And due to this, the horses left lots of droppings. The more droppings you found, the more sucessful the play was.
Really! Huh, that’s pretty interesting, Kit. I learned something new, thanks.
Photographer Tony Austin was at the tail-end of a 3-hour nature walk recently when a murder of crows landed nearby. When one of the crows started “acting strangely,” Austin began photographing it.
Unbelievable but true!
Anting is a behavior in which crows land on an anthill and allow ants to infest their feathers. The ants then spray formic acid on their feathers. This acid will act as an insecticide, fungicide, and bactericide that will rid the bird of all its disease-causing pathogens!
