okay as much as the “night swan is a human” plot lowkey came out of nowhere, I gotta say I actually do really like the concept of Night Swan and Sara being narrative foils to eachother like that.
Like, both were humans brought into the Danceverse by some guy with a discoball, and have several other similarities past that, but are distinguished by one key difference between them that ultimately changes the way their stories go, at least initially.
While Night Swan/Leda always endlessly aims for perfection, and was lead down a dark path in her pursuit of it, Sara doesn’t really seem to care and moreso dances for the fun of it. Hell, she didn’t even get a megastar on HER OWN MAP if you look at her IYWP score at the beginning of YSSMIAC. But she didn’t care; she was still happy to just have fun dancing, even if she wasn’t ‘perfect’ at it.
Not to mention; In the times when Sara was brought into the Danceverse, she was surrounded by a bunch of friends hanging out with her. Meanwhile, Leda was seen completely alone when she was brought into the Danceverse during MOTDF.
I just really like the thought of them being narrative foils to eachother like this. I think it’s neat.
Jack being a kidnapped human from Earth is my current favourite crack theory. Like, imagine at the end of "Witch", Night Swan is like,
"Just look at this, Jack. Isn't it beautiful? This is everything I've dreamed of, for US. Soon, I will achieve what the Traveler, his preening beau, and ridiculous son could never do; I will bring true harmony and perfection to the Danceverses with my army, and no one will stand in our way. This is our lives. This is our future...."
