Train to Hogwarts

Seokjin makes some friends on the train to Hogwarts.

Seokjin nervously walked through the train and finally found an empty compartment, empty except for one girl sitting in the corner. “Is it ok if I sit here?” he asked in all politeness, motioning to the seat across from her. The girl quietly smiled and nodded yes, so he housed his bag into the overhead luggage compartment and sat down across from her. “So you’re a new student, too?” she asked after a small moment of silence. “Do I really look that nervous?” he asked, his ears turning a bright red.

She chuckled slightly. “No, it’s because you’re wearing generic robes, since we haven’t been sorted into our houses yet!” she replied, motioning to her own generic robes. “But are you really nervous?” she asked, concernedly. “A little bit,” Seokjin replied, looking down at his hands. “Good, me too,” the girl said, mustering up a smile. As he looked at her, he could tell by her twiddling thumbs that she was just as nervous as him. And probably just as shy, yet she was being so friendly and outgoing to him despite that.

“Let’s seee… this compartment looks empty, oh!!” a boy said to his friend as they suddenly barged into the compartment. “So sorry! We should leave you two alone,” he said with a small smirk, his hand still on the door. “No, it’s not like that!” the girl said, embarrassedly. “We’ve only just met!!” Seokjin said. “Well… not properly, actually,” he said, turning to her. “I’m Seokjin. Or just Jin for short,” he introduced himself, extending his hand to her. “I’m Mun,” she said, taking his hand and shaking it.

“I want in!! I’m Ken!!” the boy at the door said. “And this is my good buddy, Sandeul,” he added as the two fully entered the compartment and closed the door behind them. “So we’re all first years then,” Sandeul said as he sat down in the empt seat next to Mun. “Any guesses as to which house you’re gonna be sorted in?” he asked. Ken smiled widely. “I’m definitely going to be a Gryffindor!! The Gryffindor blood flows through my veins! Both of my parents were Gryffindors,” he said, proudly.

“I honestly don’t know what house I’ll be in… I don’t think I’m brave enough to be a Gryffindor, though my father was one. I’m only a half-blood,” Mun spoke up. “My father was a Hufflepuff, and my mom was a Gryffindor, so it could go either way for me,” Sandeul said with a shrug. “What do you think, Jin?” Ken asked the quiet boy beside him. He shrugged. “I don’t know much about the houses, honestly! I’m actually a muggleborn… so I have a lot of learning to do!” he said, nervously, worried they would make fun of him.

“I think we all have a lot of learning to do… which is why we’re going to school in the first place!” Sandeul said with a laugh. “That’s true… we’ll all learn together!” Mun said, reassuringly, looking across at her new friend with a smile. “Wouldn’t it be so fun if we were all sorted into Gryffindor??” Ken asked. “Even if not, we should all promise to stay friends. I like you guys already,” Sandeul said cheerfully, putting an arm affectionately around Mun. She laughed and nodded in agreement, so happy to already have friends thrown at her, hoping to herself that they would stick around for a long time
