So I just watched Beauty and the Beast and.......

Lefou gets a BF and he looks like this:

Like Lefou must have been like “Gaston who?” when he gets with this guy in the end of the movie.

BTW the actor who plays this guy apparently also played Gaston in a Paris stage production of Beauty and the Beast.

So Like...

In Beauty and The Beast, Gaston is like “screw your courage to the sticking place” which is a Macbeth reference.... And like Macbeth is about a guy getting seduced/manipulated by his wife into killing the king.... And in Beauty and The Beast, LeFou is being manipulated/seduced by Gaston into lying for him/helping him kill the beast....See the parallel? LeFou is Macbeth, Gaston is Lady Macbeth. Only difference is LeFou realizes his wrongdoing and changes sides, and Gaston dies out of his arrogance, not guilt. But the parallel is there and I loveeeee it

Me, confused, having watched the 1991 animated movie where Lefou was definitely gay as shit for Gaston back then too and it just wasn’t canon:

Me, an intellectual: The live action version changed most of LeFou's qualities to make him less foolish and more of a sidekick, however he is still emotionally manipulated by Gaston but achieves a great redemption arc when he realizes that Gaston doesn't care for him

Also me, an intellectual: Plus he's a gay character whose story isn't centered around his sexuality, its just an ingrained part of him like gay characters should be written
