Thanks @annatrow for tagging me! When you get this, please say 5 (or more and don't be shy about it) nice things about yourself publicly, then send it to 10 of your followers 💞
1) I’m very bright - fast learner, can absorb a lot of info quickly, assess situations well - good observant and analytical and communication skills
2) I have a strong sense of justice - very much a believer in fairness and equity and really work at a life with racial and class and gender equity as my priorities
3) I am brave - see #2 above, I speak up and speak out a lot. I criticize up, not down, and this doesn’t always win me a lot of fans in management. But it makes a huge difference to me when folks come out of the woodwork to say, thank you for speaking up, and it’s restorative and I can go on to fight another day
4) I’m funny. I get this from my dad and more broadly from an Irish-American background where if you’re not laughing through the pain, heckling your loved ones, and telling stories- are you really living? I’m quick on my feet and I ❤️❤️❤️ making people laugh.
5) I’m a redhead and a lefty and an only child - these are just unusual characteristics and so I just love them about myself. My hair used to be much more red but with age it’s darkened.
6) I’m accepting - I’m a Virgo and have a PhD and definitely have some autistic characteristics (I have a child on the spectrum) so I definitely can have fixed ideas about things (which can definitely come across as judgmental or critical), BUT I’m curious about people and widely accepting of all kinds of personalities, identities and experiences because I’m always interested in learning and experiencing.
Related to a bunch of these, I’m definitely part of a neurodiverse household. I have really come to see autism as emancipatory from social expectations. From my son and the characteristics we share - when you are not as aware of social norms and expectations, it’s quite freeing. We should spend less time as a society trying to teach social cues and more time freeing the rest of us from such constricting expectations. Not until it’s anarchy! 😆 But imagine a world with ever greater freedom from gendered, racist and classist etc. assumptions and expectations. I know the Tumblr universe gets it.

happy left handed day 👍🏻
cheers to all of my fellow studying lefties who get the struggles of ink covered hands and spiral bound notebooks—may we rise over them someday 🤓

If you get this, answer with 3 random facts about yourself, and send it to the last 7 blogs in your notifications, anonymously or not!
1) I'm left-handed
2) I love all seafood (that I've tried) except shrimp, I got an overcooked piece when I was in my early teens and can't eat it anymore.
3) I have never visited another Canadian province, I was born in Ontario and even though I've traveled to the US and even Cuba, I've never been to any other Canadian province or territory.
I’d just like to take a second to remind everyone that Oswald Cobblepot is left handed. Yes, I know Robin Lord Taylor is left handed and we see Oswald using both hands, but he predominantly uses his left. Take a look at any of the screenshots and you’ll see what I mean.
Leaning with his left hand.
Lookit this beautiful left handed baby!
“Excuse me, are people forgetting that I’m left handed?”
“I’m not drunk enough for this.” Left
I can’t tell you why this is so important to me. I guess it’s a pet peeve of some sort? But these are only a handful of the images I found on google. It’s fun to watch the episodes and see which hand Ozzie is using more, but most of the time it’s his left! It’s a fun little fact that I feel more people need to realize. Pass the knowledge along, friends!
I would die for Beverley and the fact that she’s left handed in the book and the movie
Left handed pens are on the same category as pens "for ladies" and Kleenex "for men"
