When Tiny Time needs advice
Tiny Time: Warriors, how do I get revenge on those who have wronged me?
Warriors: The best revenge is letting go and living well.
Tiny Time:
Tiny Time: Legend, how do I get--
Legend: Stab. Eliminate. Destroy
Healing
Part one
Time sucked in a sharp breath as he awoke so suddenly. He took deep, shaky breaths, trying to calm himself from his night terror without waking the others. It’s been about a week since he turned into a child. He’s returned to his normal mentality, acting as if nothing was amiss but..it’s been getting more difficult to keep that mask in place.
As much as he doesn’t want to admit, handling his traumas and memories as a child was proving to be much more difficult than usual. Perhaps it was because he was in the body of a ten year old, perhaps it was because everything hurt so much more because of the same reason. He sighs through his nose and slowly sits up, brushing his hair out of his eyes. The distant memory of Navi comforting him during nightmares came to his mind but he quickly pushed it aside. No. He would not give in to his grief any more. He had grieved long enough.
He looks around and feels a small bit of relief settle in his chest when he saw that everyone else was accounted for and asleep, all except Legend who had taken the middle shift. He rubs his eyes tiredly and yawns before looking up and freezing. The moon. It looked so full and so close. He felt his breathing begin to quicken as he stared up at the moon with terrified blue eyes.
He could see it as if it was happening. The moon, with its anguished expression, coming down without mercy. Being pulled out of the sky as if it were an apple being picked from a tree. He could almost feel the earth rumble in protest. The rumbles growing more powerful and more frequent the closer the moon got. He could hear the laughter of the Skull Kid. Of Majora. Laughing at his failures. Laughing at how he let everyone die. Laughing about how he had taken Darmani’s identity. How he had been too late to save Mikau, no matter how fast he had gotten to the shore. He had always been too late.
Finally, he could hear the Happy Mask Salesman. Could hear his usual greeting when he had been too late. When he had let the moon fall. The man would look at him with that same empty look and utter the same words every time. “You’ve met with a terrible fate, haven’t you.” The one man who knew what he was going through. The one man who could have offered him someone to lean on, some sort of help, would simply brush him off because all he cared about was that damn mask.
Time whimpers as he wipes his eyes. No. He would not cry. He’s cried enough. He’s mourned for more than half of his life. All he can remember doing as a child is mourning. Mourning the loss of his friends, his family. Mourning the Great Deku Tree. Mourning his lost childhood. Mourning the loss of his freedom. Mourning the loss of an entire world. Mourning the loss of his most precious friend. It seemed all he was good for was sacrificing his life and mourning for those he’s loved.
He sniffs before freezing when he sees something in his peripheral vision. Upon turning around, he lets out a shaky breath of relief when he realizes it was just Legend settling down against a stone just outside the camp. He shook his head and ran his hands through his head. He needed to get a grip. He wasn’t a baby. He could handle his emotions.
He carefully tugs on his boots but doesn’t secure them, letting them fall a little as he stands. He picks at his fingers as he makes his way towards Legend, his too big boots making his presence known. Once he gets to Legend, he hesitates before sitting down. He crosses his legs and plays with his tunic as they sit in shared silence. Occasionally, they would hear an owl hoot or the soft buzzing of bugs. A gentle breeze blew by, the scent of nature in it. Time breaths it in and sighs, relaxing ever so slightly.
“Never took you as the type to have night terrors.” Legend spoke after a few more moments of silence.
“How did you know it was a night terror?” Quizzed the smaller, avoiding eye contact with Legend.
“You don’t have a shift tonight and you aren’t the type to just wake up for no reason. If there were monsters, we would currently be defending the sleeping beauties behind us.” The traveller drawls, the hint of a smirk on his face.
Time cracked a small smile oh amusement at what Legend had said before sighing and leaning back against the stone, gazing up at the night sky. “Yes..I did have a night terror.” He confirms as he gently makes his booted feet touch.
—
Legend hums in acknowledgment but doesn’t request an elaboration. He knew that Time should talk about his childhood traumas, he himself has faced things he would rather not remember. But keeping things bottled up will only lead to something more dangerous. Bottled up grief and anger will lead to drastic and dangerous actions and thoughts.
As he was about to suggest that Time get a drink of water then go back to bed, a soft voice began to fill the void of silence. Not just a voice, a song filth the air, soft and melodic. His surprise grew when he discovered that it was Time who was singing. He relaxed and listened, letting the melody was over him.
“Day to night, dark to light,
Fall the sands of time.
Let the years like the gears
Of a clock unwind” Sang the child, his voice was light but it also held a sorrow and heaviness.
This tune sounded familiar to him but it didn’t know why. He hesitates before opening his pouch and pulling out his Ocarina. He closed his eyes and listened to the lyrics, trying to map out the melody in his mind.
“In your mind walk through time
Back to better days.
Memories, like a dream,
Wash your tears away.”
Legend took a breath before beginning to play his Ocarina along to Time’s singing. He heard the boy falter and was about to stop when the singing continued. He may not be the best with feelings, but he could tell that this song meant something to the other. He didn’t know what, but he could feel it.
“Like a star in the sky,
Darkness can’t reach you.
Light the night, joy is light,
Till the new dawn.”
As the song continued on, he felt as though he were lighter. That his soul felt soothed and relaxed for once, something he hasn’t felt since he was a child. This must have been one of the magic songs Malon had told them of. The songs that haunted Time from one of his journeys when he was young. But this song did not feel menacing nor malevolent. It felt calming.. felt as though it were healing.
“Cast away your old face,
Let go your spite.
With this mask I’ll ask,
To borrow your light.”
They continued like this, for how long? Neither of them know. They had both succumbed to the peaceful verses of the song and had allowed it to guide them through the melody. It felt as though they were in their own world, their own bubble that was separated from the rest of the world around them. Nothing mattered in this moment. Not the Goddesses, not the Triforce, not the spirit that binds them together, not even the shadows that seemed to watch their every move. The only thing that mattered was the flow of the melody and their feelings.
“Darkness is fading now,
It’s not too late.
Three days is all you have,
To change your faith.”
The song soon came to its end. Legend held the note on his Ocarina for an extra beat before letting that fade as well and they were left in silence once more. They both took their time to catch their breaths. Legend looked at his Ocarina before putting it back in his pouch. He cracked his knuckles before looking over at the child.
“What was that song?” He asks curiously yet keeping his tone quiet, not wanting to calm atmosphere to leave.
“The song of healing..I learned it during my journey to Termina..” The child answered after a few moments. His tone hinting that he did not wish to discuss what or where Termina was.
Legend nods, satisfied with the answer. He hesitates before speaking. “I know I’ve been...colder to you. That I’ve been holding resentment towards you for what happened to me.” He winces. He was never good with feelings. “What I’m trying to say is that..I’m always here. I may not be the best with feelings but..I’m a decent listener.” He finishes, shifting.
He doesn’t see it, but Time smiles a bit brighter, his posture relaxing. The smaller sets a hand on Legends knee and gives it a gentle squeeze. A silent thank you as well as a silent invitation of the same offer. Time understood how difficult it could be for some to share their feelings or traumas. He would never pressure any of them to share their experiences but he would always be open to helping them if they needed it.
Legend feels himself relax as well and watches the landscape before them. He holds back a yawn, a subtle reminder at his late it actually was. He sets a hand on Times shoulder as he looks down at him and gestures towards his bedroll with a nod.
“Head back to bed, it’s getting late and you’ll need all the energy you can get tomorrow. I don’t wanna be stuck with carrying you on my back.”
—
Time snorted at that and rolled his eyes before nodding. “Alright. Good night, Legend.” He hums. He hesitates before hugging the other tighter. He felt Legend tense before slowly relaxing and wrapping his left arm around him.
“You’re welcome, kid..” The hero mumbles and gives Time a gentle squeeze before pushing him away jokingly. “Now go to bed, brat or I’ll take ya to your bedroll myself.” He threatens with a relaxed grin.
Time laughs softly and nods before standing and going back to his bedroll, yawning softly as he did. He sat back down on it and slowly took off his boots, his eyes growing heavy with sleep.
He felt grateful that Legend didn’t push him away nor call him over emotional. He had never expected Legend out of all of them to comfort him as he did. His mind wondered why Legend could play the Song of Healing but he didn’t wish to dwell on it. Perhaps it was passed down or perhaps the other had a skill of picking up melodies.
He curls up on his bedroll and brings the blanket over himself, clutching his blanket tightly as he watched the small fire dance lazily. Even though he didn’t talk about his night terror nor of his experience in Termina, he felt better. Felt lighter. The memories were still there, they still plagued his mind like an itch that won’t go away. But..they were distant now. Quieter. Easier to push aside for the time being. He would tell them one day. One day he’ll explain everything.
As his eyes fell closed, the melody of Healing echoed in his mind, becoming a soothing lullaby that lulled him to sleep. A melody that he once loathed because it would mean death. A melody that usually meant an end of a life now had the potential to be something more. To perhaps be the start of a new era. An era peace. An era of healing. Not just for him, but for everyone else.
With those final thoughts, the child of Time fell into the clutches of sleep, no longer followed my nightmares or traumas.
A New Companion
Wild felt a grin spread out across his face as his feet touched the ground. To those unused to traveling between Hyrules, no one would tell the difference between the last Hyrule and this one. But he knew this Hyrule. This was his Hyrule. His home.
He feels someone wrap an arm around him and automatically knew it was Twilight. He grins up at his Mentor, who meets him with a smile of his own.
“It’s nice to see you so happy, cub.” Twilight hums as he looks around. “Do you have anywhere you wanna head first while we’re here?” He asks curiously.
Wild was about to respond when something, or rather someone interrupted him. His head shot to the left and after a moment, his eyes widened when he saw Zelda, riding towards him and the other eight heroes. He pulled away from his mentor and walked towards Zelda. He could vaguely hear was she was shouting.
“Watch out!” The princess shouted though there was no panic anywhere on her face nor demeanour. If anything, she almost looked amused.
Suddenly, a small black cloud flew from behind Zelda and zipped towards Wild. Before the other anyone could get a word in, the Cloud slammed into the scarred hero, causing him to fall on his back with a laugh.
Wild began to pet and scratch at the cloud, cooing and chuckling as the cloud made..oinking sounds. Soon the black, purple and red cloud pulled away to reveal a..a pig?! More specifically, a tiny boar.
Warriors hesitates. “Uh..Wild? What is that?”
Wild looks up at him, his grin so bright it could be brighter than the sun. “This is my Cloud-Piglet, GanGan!” He chirps and holds out the pig to them
Twilight chokes on his spit and doubles over as he coughs, Time rubs his protégés back, unsure of how to respond. Warriors has a horrified look on his face as he stares the piglet down. Really, the only two who weren’t freaking out aside from Wild were Wind and Sky. Sky because he has no clue who Ganon is, and Wind because well..how could you be scared of a little piglet.
“He’s so cute! Where’d you find him?!” Wind asks excitedly as he pets GanGan.
“When I defeated Calamity Ganon, he turned into this and I just...I couldn’t hurt him. He’s basically piglet. I know he still has his memories cause he recognized Zelda and I, but he can’t change back. Ever since that day, he’s followed me around everywhere. But the day we met, he was under the weather so I had to leave him behind. Fuck, he must have been worried sick.” The Hero of the Wild explains as he hugs the Cloud-Piglet.
Zelda huffs as she dismounts her horse and pets it’s neck. “GanGan has been going crazy. He wouldn’t go three feet from me cause he was afraid I would disappear as well. He was very hurt by your disappearance, Link.” She scolds the sheepish Hero.
Zelda looks at the other eight heroes and thinks for a moment. “I suppose you’ll all wanna rest for a day. Let’s go back to the castle. The west wing is fully restored so there will be enough rooms.” She smiles softly. “We can also discuss any supplies you need and if there’s anything else this Hyrule can do.”
The other eight nod but their attention was still on the Wild child, who remained on the ground, playing with the Cloud-Piglet with a relaxed smile. This was going to be an Interesting time.
—
When they get to the castle, the others could tell that they would have to get used to cloud-piggy GanGan. The eight heroes would watch as Wild would toss treats into the air and GanGan would do flips and tricks in the air to get them.
GanGan would also float by Wild’s shoulder, oinking and nuzzling his owner happily as Wild laughed and shared stories about his adventure so far.
But they knew that GanGan was very protective of Wild because whenever Warriors would tease him a little too much, or Legend’s roughhousing got too rough, the glare that GanGan would give them terrified them more than any other Ganon or Ganondorf ever could.
Sea songs
This was a request from a friend of mine, @orphisthedragon. They wanted some fluffy time and I think I delivered, even though is more Hurt/Comfort. So,,,enjoy!!
The first thing that seemed the register through his sleep-hazed mind was the faint sound of muttering. It seemed to be coming from all around him. What the words were, he had no clue. If he had to guess though, Wild had probably run off again to go scavenging and the other seven heroes were deciding on who would go searching for him.
He made a small sound as he began to wake himself up, the muttering coming to a sudden half. He paid it no mind as he yawned and slowly sat up, rubbing his eye but..something was off. He opened his eyes and he let out a panicked sound as he saw short little legs in big brown boots.
Time scrambled to his feet and swayed, about to fall when someone caught him. He looked up to see his protégé looking down at him with blatant concern and fear written all over his face. Time looked down at himself and felt his eyes widen to what was probably a comical size.
In place of his usual armour and clothes was an all too familiar green tunic that went just above his knees and was held in place by a belt around his waist. He suddenly froze and his hands, his much too small hands, felt around his face. Smoother, chubbier cheeks, smaller face. He felt his hands shake as he raised his hand to his right eye and could actually see it.
The once adult let out a strangled sound before pushing, or moreso squeezing, past his allies and to a shiny metal shield. He uses stares at Legends shield in shock as he takes himself in. He was younger. Not just younger, he was a child! No more than eight years old if he had to guess. He could feel his breathing begin to quicken and get more shallow as he stumbles back. He felt his body begin to shake as he tries to calm down.
The other eight heroes look at each other in shock and confusion. Twilight was about to say something when a sniffle cut through the air like an arrow. Eight heads snapped towards the deaged leader. As they began to question if the wound actually happened, another sniffle happened. Then another. Then another. Until finally Time crumbled and began to cry, his panic too much for his young mind.
As if someone had flipped a switch, everyone rushed over and quickly sat around the weeping hero, offering reassurances though none seemed to work.
Wind worried his lip between his lips as he watched who he thought of to be a father figure continue to cry. The stress of the situation being far too much. The once youngest of the heroes hesitated before doing the one thing that came to mind.
Wind reached forward and wrapped his arms around Time and brought him close, setting him on his leap and holding the child to his chest. “It’s alright, Link..” He whispers as he rubs Time’s back. “It’ll be ok. We’ll figure out how to get you back to normal. No need to get all sad, little minnow.” He would always call his little sister that when she got scared or upset so it just seemed right.
The rest of the Links watched in shock as Wind successful managed to get their child leader to calm down. They would have never expected the youngest among them to be the best with children.
Wind offers Time a bright smile when the smaller finally calmed down. He used his own shirt to wipe away Times tears before fixing the others hat. “Now, why don’t you come with me and we can collect some berries for breakfast, Alright?”
Time hesitates before nodding. He wanted to help the others but he knew he would only get in the way this small. He got off of Wind and took his hand, holding it tight as the other Link lead him into the forest excitedly.
——
Twilight watched as his mentor and little brother walked into the forest before turning to the others. “So...How will we change him back? We can’t just leave him like that.”
Legend gives Twi an obviously exaggerated look of surprise. “What? We can’t leave our leader as a child?! That thought never crossed my mind, Twilight. Thanks for sharing.”
Four winces. “That was..a little over the top but I agree. We all know we gotta change him back but the real question is can we? We don’t even know how it happened in the first place.” The shift and looks at Warriors. “You didn’t see anything on your shift, did you?”
Warriors shakes his head. “No. I turned my back for just a second and next thing I Know, he’s was a kid and I woke you all up.”
“Do you think it was the Shadow?” Wild asks as he looks at each Link.
Twilight looks towards where Wind and Time has disappeared to. “Yes. Without a doubt.”
——
Wind hums an old sailors tune as they walked through the forest towards a small pond where he had seen some berries and apple trees the day before during a perimeter check. He looks down at the young Time who was holding his hand and looking around with his large blue eyes. It was so strange to watch his usually guarded leader so expressive.
“You really like nature, don’t you Link?” He asks curiously as he tilts his head, making sure to keep his tone light and soft.
Times head snapped up before nodding and going back to watching the birds fly between the trees. Everything looked so much bigger from this point of view. He almost understands why the Sages has put him to sleep so he could age. There was no way he could take on Ganondorf at this size.
“We’re here!” Time looked forward at Winds announcement and couldn’t help but smile at the small pond that had a few fish swimming in it. There were numerous bushes with berries and flowers growing around it as well.
Time hesitantly let go of Winds hand to walk towards some flowers. He felt The other Links gaze on him for a few moments before it disappeared. He hummed to himself as he looked and the flower. These flowers reminded him of the ones that lived in Kokiri Village. A frown tugged at his lips as he thought of his home. Of Saria, of Mido, of the Great Deku Tree, and of everyone else in Kokiri Village who had raised him.
He sniffed and quickly turned and rushed back to Wind, hugging him tight. He felt the other tense in surprise before relaxing and hugging him close.
“This must make you miss home, huh?...being so little, everything feeling so much more intense..” Wind hums as he gently rubs his back. Time could only nod against the other with a small sniff.
“C’mon, Link…” With a slight struggle, Wind picked Time up, which was impressive to the younger, and carried him to the pond before sitting and setting the other on his lap.
“Sometimes, I miss home time. I miss grandma, Aryll, Tetra...everyone..I miss sailing with the King of Red Lions. Of feeling the ocean breeze on my face. But then I remember that yes, my family is so far but I have a new family. I have all of you and I remind myself that Grandma and Aryll would love and accept you all and that makes me feel better. It gives me something to look forward to.” He explains as he holds the little Link close. “I know it’s hard, Link. But you’re strong. Heck! You’re the strongest one of us!”
Wind grins as he tickles Time, watching in excitement as the child let out a few giggles as he squirmed.
“What I’m trying to say is that you should embrace the memories. Instead of looking back on them with remorse and regret, look at them with hope and happiness. Once you start doing that, it’ll be easier to remember the ones you miss. Now, why did I say about being all mopey?” He joking scolds.
Time snorts and shrugs, his eyes sparkling with amusement as he pretends not to have any idea what Wind was referring to.
“Ah, a wise one, eh? And a quiet one too. Well, I know how to take care of that!” In a flourish, Wind stood and successfully got Time onto his shoulders. Said Link shrieked and laughed joyfully as his hands gripped onto the shoulders of Winds shirt.
Wind began to belt out the silliest pirate song he knew as he began their journey back to camp. He would jump from foot to door and put on silly voices as he sang chorus’ and bridges of the song. The whole time, the Link on his shoulders would laugh and kick his feet along to the song, his smile never leaving his face as he began to sing along to the song, his voice sounding so carefree. As if he had never faced a battle in his life.
They got into camp during Winds grand finale. The sailor basically yelled out the last note to the song, holding a dramatic victory pose as Time continued to laugh, the poor child almost falling off Winds shoulders.
The others couldn’t help but slightly relax as they heard Time laughing. Yes, the situation was not the best but…it was much easier to bare when Time was enjoying himself.
Wind helped Time get off his shoulders and, after handing his pouch full of fruit to Wild, began to tell a gripping tale of adventure to the Young boy, who’s attention never once strayed away.

This is for the Linked Universe discord. The prompt this week was Warriors so I thought, what the hell. Credit goes to @linkeduniverse for the characters and such.
Warriors has been hiding something. What happens when that secret is ripped into the open?
