omggg pop quiz on a series I did read in its entirety but haven't thought about in a while hmm... farcille!

idk what can I say about farcille that nobody else hasn't said before... I do think it's basically canon like I have eyes. however something about it simply doesn't check my boxes or hit my funnybone or whatever. wish I enjoyed farcille more but I feel no strong emotions about it :( maybe it's bc they're both blonde or something

Laios x Kabru

comedy of errors type shit... I do think both laios and kabru went through really excellent character development together and that one analysis of them that was like oh their trauma came from humans and monsters respectively so they became the understanders of monsters and humans... but then neither of them are truly liberated because they don't understand their adversaries. but because they met each other they can finally confront that which they had been avoiding all this time. .. something something. that was a great post which changed my opinion on their character dynamic!

however I don't really see them as romantic... I do enjoy the king and advisor dynamic they end up having I think that's really cool and I think I prefer that to be non-romantic

I do really enjoy the relationship between chilchuck and laios! I like that they're able to be cordial, professional coworkers. I think that's very special for the both of them! like I think for Laios who struggles with interpersonal relationships, and Chilchuck who is straddling this really awkward line of being this intimidating figure to other half-foots while being infantilized and exploited by people of other races, both of them really value the fact that they can treat each other normally and respectfully. I really like that they respect the boundaries outlined in their work contract basically! It just feels kind of ooc for either of them to fall in love lmaooo

omg. OK. sorry. sorry sorry. I don't really like this one... like I know senshi mistakenly believing chilchuck to be a kid and giving him a sex ed talk was born purely out of senshi's ignorance and also his unique circumstances of being in the dungeon for a decade or something. but it is just such a painful and egregious macroaggression to me I just can't see chilchuck ever being able to consider senshi a romantic partner idkkk like I've received my share of racial and cultural comments that were infantilizing and/or offensive and while I can still be friends with these people to be in a committed romantic relationship is just sooo... mmm... I don't know.......

thank you again for the asks though and anyone who disagrees feel free to do so for I am answering based on vague recollections so I may very well be wrong about character interpretations and so on!!!

(post-canon) Hey Chilchuck! You've done a lot of good work setting up and running the half-foot guild to protect working half-foots from prejudice and exploitation. Now that different groups are coming together in the new kingdom, do you think you'd be involved in helping groups like orcs and kobolds establish something similar?

Honestly, I’d never considered it. Laios has been helping out a lot with the Orcs when they need, so they’ve been doing more or less okay. There’s also not a whole lot of Kobolds over here to begin with. That one that hangs out with Mickbell is the only one I’ve met in a few years. I guess if they end up needing help getting established it wouldn’t hurt, but for now I’m not sure if there’s a need.

The students call him Kageyama-sensei! It gets a bit confusing at times among students and staff, but nevertheless they stick to standard politeness. Besides, how would they get their hands on his childhood nickname? He’s not just handing that out.But it’s funny you should ask.

how is peter's relationship with mj and ned going? and aside from angel, have the other copycats experienced an identity reveal crisis of any kind?

You must have been on a similar brainwave as me because I wrote a little piece yesterday (lol, little. It’s like 10k) about Peter figuring out he was poly in the DFV. I can give you a wee snippet of that, although I know that this ask is about Inimitable, so just real quick:

He got it now. But it still felt wrong. Sticky.

Matt told him that when he was younger and he figured outthat he didn’t want to choose, he’d just decided that he wouldn’t. Sex waseasier when there were no expectations, he explained.

“It’s easier for people to understand being a player than itis for people to understand polyamory sometimes,” he said. “So I guess I justleaned in.”

Matt said straight off that it wasn’t great advice, but hedidn’t know what else to say.

“It just hurts sometimes,” he told Peter, “Because it’slike, your heart is so big and you’re supposed to give it to one person andlike, why should I give it to one person? When they could break it at anymoment? And why should I give it to only one person when there’s enough therefor two or three or what the fuck ever, you know? Sorry, I guess that doesn’tmake sense since I’m kind of a fuck-up and there’s probably not enough therefor even half a person—but still. I mean, if I was a better person with thesame thing—maybe if I was more like you, Peter, it still doesn’t make sense.”

Matt thought that Peter was still a good person even when hehad these wrong feelings and somehow, that made things a little easier. Maybethose poly feelings would stay in the Bad Box for now, but they could come outof the box when he was with Matt, maybe. That was probably allowed.

But Matt told him to be careful around other people, becausewhat had happened to him with Fogs might happen to Peter, especially aroundfolks who didn’t really know or understand what was going on very well.

Foggy knew about Matt being poly, he explained, but it madehim feel a bit weird because Fogs was very monogamous. Extremely loyal anddedicated and entirely prepared to make the commitment of a lifetime with onlyone person. This wasn’t to say that Foggy didn’t love Matt or that he didn’tunderstand where Matt was coming from, here. Rather, it made Fogs feel insecureand Matt loved him so much that he didn’t want Foggy to ever feel insecure withwhat they had, so if that meant kind of letting go or holding back, he thoughtmaybe he was willing to do that.

Even if it hurt a little.

Eventually, he said, he’d get used to it. He’d gotten usedto worse pain.

It sucked.

It sucked to hear that and it sucked to think that thatmight be the rest of his own life.

I actually wrote two versions of this fic, one with and one without the poly plot. (The main side plot in both is that Matt meets Jennifer Walters (i.e. She-Hulk) and they flirt and things get a little sticky for Peter and for Matt, who’s left trying to endure peoples’ judgement and figure things out while trying to support Peter. Pete sees him struggling and actually finds a lot of support in that and in the All Caps trio)

ANYWAYS. lemme know folks if you want the poly one or the non-poly one. First is feelsy, second is comedic (basically this one is a gossip fic, with wild accusations and people being territorial all over).

But as to your question my dear,

Inimitable Peter’s relationship with Ned and MJ is going slowly but swimmingly. We start to see a little of it peeking out in under fire with MJ spending the night and Ned leaving cutesy little love notes. But it is all still very casual and relaxed between the three of them because Peter’s still a little fragile from before. They’re also trying to work out their dynamic and everyone’s needs etc. etc. So it’s very much a slow burn with lots of little dates and sleepovers and chatting.

As for question Part 2.

Angel doesn’t have too, too much of an identity crisis going on with Spiderman. Miles has far more reservations than both her and Louis. Angel and Louis are just along for the ride, chillin.’ Dave doesn’t have much of an identity crisis either.

The copy cats are fine because, unlike Miles, they aren’t mutated and they don’t plan to live out the rest of their lives as Spidermen or Daredevils. This is just a thing which they are doing for the time being, until they choose to no longer do it. Peter and Matt are fully aware of this and don’t have very high expectations of longevity in these guys’ careers, so it’s all fairly low stakes for them.

hi i was just wondering if you have any headcanons on the different links over the course of the series? like if they all have different reasons for being quiet or is it all the same... do you think link reincarnations have some memories/skills from previous links? im just very excited that you like loz now and i would love to hear any thoughts if youre up to it! thank you for your time

gosh, im not sure.... i havent played that many games yet, ive only finished botw and albw. and im pretty rusty on overall zelda lore/timeline shit but uh

i do think different links probably have different reasons bc different links have different personalities, and different life experiences. but i wouldnt say i have like, specific headcanons for those reasons. like, maybe some links are physically disabled in a way that prevents them from speaking, for some it might be a psychological thing like in botw, i dunno, it doesnt feel like my business.

as for memories, uh....not really? not in a way that they would be aware of anyway. it might manifest as strange dreams or some innate sense of duty but i think its cooler when link is just like, a good person who does good things bc hes available and he cant just sit by and watch. and skills? nah, at least not in any of the games IVE played. thats actually one of my favorite things about wind waker, toon link has the range of motion and abilities of an actual little kid. a very acrobatic and determined little kid but like, he gets through it by somersaulting and taking little bunny hops onto tall ledges. that is not a kid who has retained any hero skillz from a previous life.

this might not be like, canonically accurate? zelda lore is confusing lmao. but whatever

hey i keep seeing your art for little witch academia, and so far it looks like something i could get into... do you mind telling me what the show's about and why you like it? and also where you watch it. thank you!

Yeah!! It’s about a girl named Atsuko who aspires to become a great witch after seeing a magic show as a kid. It’s set in a school for witches and has a really interesting plot line and characters as well. Not only that but the animation is breathtaking and there’s no fanservice at all which is really refreshing to see. 

It started as two short movies (They’re both on Netflix) But has been getting a TV series. I’ve been watching it on 9anime but I think it might be coming to Netflix eventually as well? I hope this helps!!

Sadly or happily, I’ve read all of that, Cityboys fics are amazing and a heart swelled to bursting is probably my favorite bakushima fic.
