Here‘s the occasional non-art post! I want to draw more again, but alas I am a bit preoccupied. What I did have the motivation for, however, was this little guy. An original lego creation built only from the parts of the exotic parrot 3 in 1 set. I don’t really have any other legos at this point, but was gifted the set a while ago and wanted to challenge myself to make a dinosaur with it. It‘s a baby archaeopteryx/random small theropod or primitive bird. My favorite part is the feather crest I was able to achieve with the sloped pieces.
I made this lego poster for my partner for a Christmas present. He loves the Lego rock monster/power miner line and since there has been nothing new for it in over a decade I figured he deserved something to hang up on the wall for his favorite lego property.
Year: 2025
Status: Assembled
Limb Class: 2
Diet: Scavenger, plants
Habitat: Land
Notes: My first attempt at fabric wings! This almost hooved creation uses their tightly packed and complicated nostrils for smelling corpses from miles away, combined with a sharp tail to ward off any other looters, and wings meant for gliding on air for long periods of time! Is never seen killing anything itself, and will rather be found foraging if not flying
Ominous dwelling on a fuck-off cliff
(With bone monster)
Alright fuck it I’m going to start documenting my latest Lego project.
Technically I’m already over 40 hours in but that doesn’t matter actually so I’m just gonna gloss over that
Progress so far (with pictures!) under the cut:
1. The little hut
The first thing I made was this little hut and rope bridge, which then will (hopefully) connect to my next construction, which is…
2. The mansion??? Keep??? Whatever, it’s grand and imposing
Are these particularly great photos of it? No, but they do show off my nice fancy big fuck-off stained glass windows. Which I included for the aesthetic, of course. There is also a roof, but that’s rather fragile and I’d rather it didn’t fall to pieces (again).
3. The bone monster!!!
So I decided to make the cliffs hollow (when I actually get around to making them) and stick some sort of creature in there.
And I decided on whatever this thing is!
Basically I didn’t want to start making the cliffs yet, so I made an eerily human-ish skeletal hand, and a not at all human double jaw, complete with a single staring eye.
4. The cliffs
I did finally start working on the cliffs. Started with a path leading up from the other end of the rope bridge, then switched to going from the base up. Why in that order? No idea.
Just over 40 hours later (give or take), and I’m not even close to being done…
