So, here's the thing: Yesterday I saw a tweet from a user showing a photo of a Valentine's Day LEGO display with Sonic and Shadow figurines.
Obviously, my curiosity got the better of me. So, since the user didn't respond when I asked about the photo, I did some research and concluded that the photo was taken at the LEGO Store in New York, thanks to a TikTok shared by a different user on February 18th of this year.
As further evidence, I'm also adding another video uploaded two days later by another user, who also comment in the previous video.
Clearly, when we talk about "evidence" taken from TikTok, we should always be skeptical, but since we're dealing with three different photos, taken by three different people and shared at different times, it makes it all the more compelling. Not to mention, the third user in question shared another video where they comment that after buying the LEGO Sonic figure from the display, the store employee replaced it with another one of... Mirabelle from Encanto?!
Which makes it clear that the combination wasn't made with Sonadow in mind, which is logically the most likely explanation. But honestly? Who the hell cares! We already got a damn floral arrangement for the opening of SEGA Score Tokyo in Shibuya this July, and months before, LEGO has given us a freaking Sonadow display for Valentine's Day. What does it matter if it wasn't intentional?
