I picked up a couple leg vises both were missing mounting bracket & spring. I had a extra bracket from a scrapped vise that was good for the smaller vise. The big vise weighs 140lb 7 inch jaws. The small one is 50lb 5 inch jaws. I forged to fit the old bracket to the smaller vise and forged a new spring. Get a leg up! A new leg vise for one of our Roubo benches. Another option for students at the Unplugged Woodshop. We have standard Nicholson front vises on the Nicholson benches, an HNT Gordon inset vise, a Moxon vise with Benchcrafted hardware, a Veritas quick release face and tail vise, Veritas inset vises, and now a leg vise. Update on my new vise and stand. It’s actually fairly stunning how much better this works than what I had sat up previously. Everything is really sturdy and the vise itself grabs the work way better than my other vise.
