A badass brunette who can hold her own with the boys in a fight, a woman full of bravery, integrity, and righteous anger. She's one of my favorite characters. She reminds me of my childhood heroes, Leia and Marion Ravenwood of Raiders of the Lost Ark. But I don't just love Jyn for her toughness: I love her for her vulnerability. She must have been incredibly lonely before she found her Rogue One family. That she becomes a hero despite all her pain and the tragedies of her past is what makes her really special.

Galen Erso:

In my opinion Galen is one of the Rebellion's greatest heroes. No one - Jedi or otherwise - was going to take out the Death Star without someone on the inside making sure there was a vulnerability. Galen did the best he could in an impossible situation and, ultimately, helped save the galaxy.

Yeah, that is another thing with the inconsistent tone: the show kind of failed to give me the impression that the Grisha are particularly oppressed at least in present day -- other than by the weird superstitious pseudo-Nordic barbarians the Fjerdans are presented as. Like, we're *told* it through the dialogue a couple of times, but not really *shown* it. Again, not hating on the show, just kind of disappointed and confused.

In Ravka, they aren’t really all that oppressed anymore (though many are in indentured service, which while better than being hunted and murdered, still isn’t ideal). But it’s literally *because* of the Darkling and the system he built to uplift them that they even have the level of status we see in Ravka now. The problem is the way other countries (and, in the show Zlatan’s followers) feel about them and the very real threat of those countries invading. Even without all-out occupation they still succeed at infiltrating the country and abducting Grisha. I agree it should have been better communicated in the show. It was worse in the past than in the present, though, and I do think they did a good job in the Darkling’s flashback showing how it was in the past.

What made you ship it? well i was basically sold since reading six of crows book 1 - children of the barrel, clinging to each other to survive *___* but watching the show has only Solidified it <3

What are your favorite things about the ship? their dynamic is something that can be So Personal, to me. It’s about the teamwork and the drift compatibility and the contrasting/complementary personalities (and aesthetics! what a strange constellation the three of them are!) but also the slightly codepended/fucked up side of their relationship; like their relationship definitely isn’t healthy or all the way equal, at least in soc/1st season of the show, but i’m a sucker for those; the king and lionheart/bodyguard aspect of it,, but also they all contribute So Much to the dynamic, and each other, and i just. it’s something that can be so Personal.

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship? well their relationship definitely isn’t equal or necessarily healthy, which might be an unpopular opinion in some circles. i also wish there had been more meaningful kaz/jesper interactions in the show because it does feel like jesper was reduced to comic relief next to kaz’s seriousness; i miss their banter. but also in the books as well; but then it would straight up be canon sdjajsklfh and even though i do ship it i don’t necessarily wish it were/prefer it to the canon ships

idk if i should cry or laugh looking at it, it’s like you said, second-hand embarrasement. they actually shot it, then send it to post production and after another 100 people looked at it, they all went “yes, this is brilliant, we nailed it, let’s send it to cinemas”

Like, yes, Ben Solo & The Bug Hunters was very cute, because Dad!Han is great and I liked that even when he was Good, Ben was a /mean kid/, and also, Chewie really just wanting to make money is always a good Chewie. But like, there's no... story? About Ben Solo and Baby Yoda or like??? I GUESS you could argue a story about Mando and Han or Lando or Chewie, and it'd be nice to see Alden get to play Han again, but I honestly don't even think that they would consider Solo to be part of the Skywalker Saga anyway even though it's. all the same characters and Han marries into the Family With No Chill. Also, like, if Din and his baby DO find The Jedi, then KYLO BEN FUCKING CAUSES THE DEATH OF BABY YODA ANYWAY 10 YEARS LATER, SO NO THANK. IIRC we know that Ahsoka shows up, and I would guess that Regular Old Yoda somehow shows up at some point (even if not this season), but otherwise I'd be kind of surprised if any main or even secondary characters from the main movies show up this soon. I really do think it'll be people introduced in the background or with tiny roles, like, I could easily see a Hutt or two, Maz, The Crimson Corsair, Bazine Netal maybe as a kid? Her spy academy years? I don't know how old she is?? And like, I don't think Lucasfilm WILL acknowledge the Dameron-Beys and their goddamn fucking Force Tree that was goddamn set up to be goddamn the macguffin of episode IX, but WHATEVER, but like, I'd really LIKE if they acknowledged that gd tree?!?
