Y’all can I get a round of applause for my girl @the-galaxy-collector , she BUSTED HER ASS to get @lemon-mag first issue out close to our planned deadline.
I know that may not seem like much... it’s our mag... but y’all... this shit was INTENSE and she done worked her ass off.
All the love in the world to our fearless leader <3
Blog update...
Okay y’all it has been a CRAZY few days... So lets break down what’s going on!
1. BIG NEWS - I was invited to join the @lemon-mag team as their Editorial Development Director and I will also be writing some future articles as part of staff writing team as well. So please if you haven’t gone to check out what we are working on, please DO! We have a little preview of the first issues coming soon so stay tuned.
LEMON IS LOOKING FOR WRITERS, ARTISTS, AND GRAPHIC DESIGNERS among other positions so if you would love to be apart of this awesome fanfiction and fandom digital magazine please don’t hesitate to throw your name in. If you would like to submit a piece of work so our management team and Editor-in-Chief can look it over, you can contact @lemon-mag or even DM me (either here or on my personal tumblr @deathvalleyqueen ) and we will help you get all the info you need to apply.
2. I am working on the next update for the The Forgotten Wife, it has been a little slow with my husband’s birthday this weekend and getting down to business with Lemon. I am bouncing back and forth between my Lemon work and writing the next chapter so I AM WRITING I SWEAR!
Over the next few weeks while I settle into this role with Lemon, updates will be slower as we get through this really hectic time at Lemon, but I will continue to update and work on my fics.
Thanks you guys, y’all keep me going and pushing forward with all this craziness right now. So many exciting things coming soon, I wish I could tell y’all but it is going to be EPIC! Stay tuned and make sure you follow LEMON!
1. Introduce Your Main Character (MC) Your reader needs to know who the MC is because it helps them interpret the things that happen to them. Ideally, you want to introduce your MC’s name, gender, age range, and disposition as early as possible—at least on the first page, if not the first paragraph. Please note that this doesn’t mean listing all these things off—no expository paragraphs of description, and, heaven forbid, DO NOT have your character look into a mirror and list off their physical features. Work it piecemeal into the action and dialogue tags. Get creative. 2. Set Expectations You need to let your reader know what kind of story this is going to be. Will your MC have a snarky inner monologue throughout the book? Then your first paragraph better end with a sarcastic one-liner. Will there be a lot of swearing or gore? You better showcase that on the first page so the reader knows what they’re getting into. Basically, you don’t want to ambush them with these things later. Not only does this give readers who won’t like your style an early cue that this isn’t their type of book (you don’t want them, anyway, trust me), it also gives people who WILL gel with your style a reason to keep reading. 3. Start with Action Seriously. Start as close to the inciting incident as you can—start as it’s happening, if possible. Don’t worry about explaining everything. A little mystery keeps readers invested. –> Continued at thewritersaurus.com
