This study was conducted to determine the length-weight relationship of yellow-wing flyingfish, Cypselurus poecilopterus landed on the western coast of Surigao del Norte, Philippines. Sampling was performed from June 2018 to May 2019. A total of 959 fish samples were gathered and measured. Total length was measured to the nearest centimeter (cm), while weight was measured to the nearest grams (g). The parameters a and b of the length and weight relationship were estimated using the formula W= aLb which was transformed into logarithmic form Log W = Log a + b Log L. The correlation coefficient (r2) ranged from 0.877 to 0.963 indicating a strong correlation between length and weight. The b values were continually increasing from June (2.898) to March (3.499), which is within the range of 2.5 to 3.5. Pooled data of 959 fish samples have a strong correlation between length and weight and followed positive allometric growth.

There is a paucity of information concerning diminutive gobies in the Philippines. Sexual dimorphism in Celebes goby Glossogobius celebius (Valenciennes, 1837) was described based on the external morphology of the specimens from Orani river systems, Bataan, Philippines. The mean body size of females was larger than males but not significantly different (p > 0.05). The principal component analysis identified the longer snout-to-2nd dorsal fin length, snout-to-anal fin length, and deeper body of females, while males have longer median fins (anal fin and 2nd dorsal fin). Multivariate analysis of variance examined significant variation among and between the sex and maturity groups (Pillai trace = 1.52, F= 13.98, p < 0.001). In canonical variate analysis, a significant morphological deviation between immature and mature specimens is primarily explained by more posteriorly-located anal fin and 2nd dorsal fin, and longer 2nd dorsal fin by the latter. Moreover, the difference between sexes of mature specimens was evident in males having a more elongated 2nd dorsal fin. The observed variation can be attributed to developmental priorities (maturation-related morphology) and the health status of the specimens. Both sexes displayed statistically isometric growth rate (male b = 2.99; female b = 3.03). The relative condition factor (K) was closed to a K-value of 1.00, indicating a state of well-being for the collected fish specimens.

The length-weight relationship and wellness of Clarias gariepinus juveniles fed once daily on three different feeds studied for 12 weeks between March and May 2019. 50 C. gariepinus juveniles were randomly separated into three different concrete tanks and fed with Coppens, Zeigler and Aller-aqua feed respectively at a rate of 10kg/body weight once daily. The study revealed that the fish in the three tanks showed negative allometric growth throughout the study (b0.05). At the same time, condition factor decreased as the fish increased in length with Coppens varied from 7.40 to 1.18, Aller aqua from 9.69 to 1.46 and Zeigler from 9.09 to 1.31. Condition factor differences did not test statistically different (p>0.05). An indication that the different feeds are appropriate for efficient C. gariepinus production fed once with appropriate body weight feeding adjustment. The values of the condition factor reflect healthy fish status with the different feeds.

The length-weight relationship and condition factor of four-wing flyingfish, Hirundichthys affinis from the west coast of Surigao del Norte, Philippines was studied for three months from December 2022 to February 2023. A total of 252 samples were collected, measured, and analyzed in the laboratory of Surigao del Norte State University-Malimono Campus. The formula W= aLb, which was transformed into the logarithmic form Log W = Log a + b Log L, was used to estimate the length-weight relationship. The growth coefficient b found ranged from 3.099 to 3.121, showing positive allometric growth. The correlation coefficients (R2) for the period of December 2022 to February 2023 were 0.9148, 0.9441, and 0.9354, respectively, demonstrating a strong relationship and high degree of correlation between the fish’s length and weight. The four-winged flying fish species in this study were in good condition, as indicated by the relative condition factor (Kn), which ranged from 1.00 to 1.02.

From April 2020 to March 2021, a total of 109 Puntius ticto specimens were analysed to determine length-weight connections and relative condition factor. The fish sample's total length and weight ranged from 3.9 to 7.5cm and 1.15-7.79gm, respectively. Male (r=0.8583), female (r=0.8583), and pool data (r=0.8583) correlation coefficient values were found to be extremely significant. The relative condition factor was lowest in July, with males scoring 0.7010.019, females scoring 0.735 0.029, and pool data scoring 0.719 0.023. In December, the greatest range was 0.9450.028 for males, 0.9670.037 for females, and 0.9540.032 for pool data. Males (b= 1.7128), females (b= 1.8623), and pool data sexes (b= 1.7128) of Puntius ticto showed negative allometric growth in this study.
