Most Popular MC Name

The poll results are final!

1. Apparently the most popular name is Elegance, and it isn't even close - I was SHOOK by this, but I love it too! One thing I'm curious about is whether Elegance was mostly chosen for its literal meaning, the description of what that word makes your MC think of, or the way it sounds / the general vibe.

2. Second is Lenity well up from third! I'm not sure exactly why but I think these are the most ethereal-sounding names? It's interesting information regardless.

3. Ire is the OG MC for those who were here since the early devlogs, so I didn't really expect them to be the majority. Thought they might be last or nearly last. But you surprised me!

4. A classic, strong name, Wrath can be turned in any direction, which is definitely part of its charm. Not much to say about this one, but I really like it.

5. I guessed that Malice would be above #5! At least #3 for sure, or maybe even #1 or #2. I was mistaken! But it's one of my favourites, partly because, as I said under the original poll, it has great nickname potential.

6. Extra love to anyone who picked the name Justice - this is possibly the most straightforward name in my opinion, but could easily belong to some incredibly nuanced protagonists, which I always find intriguing. I didn't expect this one to be very popular, and am actually glad to see it isn't last!

7. And Enmity is officially loved the least! Is it because Elegance is a more "elegant" name that also starts with an E? Or did players find Malice to be a nicer name with a similar meaning?

We may never know.

I'll definitely run this poll again in the future and see if the statistics have changed, but it stayed more or less the same for the entire week! Thank you so much to everyone who voted, whichever name you chose.

*sigh* stooping to the point of ranting about my mc to the IF creator. My Lenity is someone who relies on facts, if someone wasn't there to see it, was it even true at all? They're naturally suspicious of those around them, and never took well to being imaginative. Despite the name they chose for themself, Lenity is quite bitter to those around them. Or those they've seen so far at least. They're quite a bit spiteful towards U. And not fully believing the other with how names are "important" in this realm, chooses to refer to themself as Night or Bloom instead of Lenity, even if it is just to spite U. Their own choice of nickname is due to them being albino. And also perhaps the whole tower burning incident. and now I gotta skitter away to play Garden of Bones again since most of Bloom's information is from my first playthroughs. But this isn't the last you'll see of me!! /silly

I believe I answered a spoiler ask from you a few days ago (sent not long after this one) so if that was you, here's hoping you enjoyed the update and weren't too sad, I'm sorry!

Logic-driven, suspicious, spiteful MCs are awesome. And the importance of names is definitely a theme in this game - so MC choosing their own nickname plays into this very well.

Although your Lenity may pick up other names or nicknames here and there, throughout the story... you never know...

Ooohhhh albinism! Couldn't remember at first if this was possible with the character creator in GoB, but it looks like it is! That's a very cool trait, although not great for travelling safely through the Arid Plains, I fear. MCs with lighter skin tones may not fare as well.

But don't worry.

I'm sure U has already thought of that. ;)
