I’ve noticed I can’t go without making a background character for anything I watch. This time it’s from the Amazing World of Gumball which is an amazing show that I highly recommend. I’ll set this up somewhat to how a wiki might have it:
Name: Ms. Rose LeNoire Race: Ink Blot Form: 2D, Gender: None but prefers female pronouns and form despite being able to shapeshift when wet. Has been known to take a male form on rare occasions. Job: Substitute at first, then Drama Teacher in Elmore Jr. High. Friends: Ms. Simian, Mr. Brown (sometimes), her roommate Enemies: Mr. Small, Richard Watterson, water or any kind of liquid, Felicity Favorite Students: Pretty much everyone except Darwin. Least Favorite Students: Darwin (At first), then both him and Gumball due to misplaced hatred. Likes: Roses, Theatre, Masks, Video games (secretly), Tea, Coffee, Making Costumes, pranking to a degree, tragic stories, dedicated actors, dark humor Dislikes: Mr. Small, Water, Students kissing up to her, Sarah’s comics, Rats, self-entitled people, Richard Watterson, Felicity. science
Position: Teeters between Chaotic Neutral and Lawful Neutral, depending on the situation.
LeNoire’s age is unknown, but she is soft spoken with a British accent and a dialect that rivals Edgar Allan Poe’s poems with a wide vocabulary, which she usually has to break down for the children. She is well versed in English, French, Theatre, Sarcasm, Acting, Literature and technical studies to be able to run a stage single-handedly. She believes once one knows that they want a life in Theatre, there’s really no need for anything else. Though she’s often a stickler for rules, she will break some to right a wrong... or to purposely get on someone’s nerves. She also loves dark humor.
While her body is pitch black, she is able to use fountain pens with different colored inks to change her hair and clothes a different color with ease when she’s out of her blacks and grays. On rare occasions, she’s able to obtain white or glow in the dark ink.
When wet, her ink will start to run, which she will need to replenish and dry quickly. This is the only time she can shapeshift. When dry, her body has limited, stiff movement, followed by the sound of cracking as she adjusts to her renewed form. She has a hard time finding a perfect balance of wet and dry. Too much water makes her fall apart and smudges against everything while drying too soon will make her too stiff to move.
LeNoire's eyes are white diamond shapes and she is shown with no mouth when she talks, but her jaw does move. However, during times of intense rage, her mouth splits open into a horrific Glasgow Jack-o-lantern smile. This cannot go away until she renews her ink and it’s pretty much terrifying to those around her as it causes her voice to become deep and hissing.
LeNoire is on good terms with Ms. Simian and Mr. Brown, often found gossiping with Ms. Simian over coffee. While she is on neutral terms with Nicole, LeNoire hates Richard as he ends up spilling liquid on her every time they meet.
She and Mr. Small, however, maintain a slight rivalry that started over an herbal tea mix up where he left with her cup and vice versa (She was found face down in the hallway in a pool of her own ink by Rocky after drinking the concoction. She may not have recovered fully from it). While Mr. Small sees nothing wrong with what happened, LeNoire holds a grudge against him for not apologizing for what the concoction did to her and for leaving it out where someone else can grab it while knowing its effects.
Last interaction between the two led LeNoire to throw Mr. Small’s sandals out onto the searing hot pavement of the playground after a heated argument where he smugly put his feet up on his desk. She regrets it after realizing she had touched his hairy feet to remove the footwear. No amount of renewing her hands is going to erase that. While she will not physically harm Mr. Small directly, she will make life as inconvenient as possible for him, if she feels up to it, of course. She detests his hippie behavior and laid back, upbeat attitude and he isn’t particular on her strict code and dark outlook.
They have yet to find a common ground.
Sarah has picked up on the rivalry and has started a comic of her own that revolves around the two teachers. LeNoire is not a fan but Small is. He has not drawn the parallels between himself and LeNoire with the main characters. He is often hounding Sarah for new issues.
