Jim had a lot to celebrate, really. Here he was, captain of the U.S.S. Enterprise and sort of a hero to boot. But none of those were the reason he found himself drinking that night. It was only the second night of their shore leave and he’d already found himself lonely. He was a social creature, he liked being around people even if he wasn’t interacting with them. Sitting in a bar to nurse a tumbler of whiskey was much more satisfying to him than drinking alone while holed up in his quarters.
So he had made his way to the bar, and he had set down with a glass of bourbon while soaking in the atmosphere and enjoying the idle chatter mingled into the music that was playing. He even engaged in some rather satisfying conversation and flirtation with some short young pretty thing but had been absolutely scandalized when she full on kissed him with NO god damn warning. Whoa-- since when did he dislike surprise makeout sessions with pretty girls?
His thoughts flickered then to his CMO and he feels his stomach flutter. Those hazel eyes, his full lips, and the muscles... Finishing his drink and trying not to be bitter, Jim leaves the bar behind and finds himself walking past his own quarters and down the hall to where he knows Bones has been assigned. He just...needs to see him for a moment or five. He just needs Leonard to assuage some of this loneliness.
Putting on a feminine tone, Jim makes a production of knocking on the doctor’s door and cooing into the comm microphone. “Helloooo? Housekeeping-- fresh towels Dr. McCoy.”
