My mother is currently reading the maze runner books (is on book 3 now) and she said that she doesn’t like Thomas because he is so whiny. But she likes Minho and Newt which is a win. But I think she does not really understand Thomas well. I think she will understand him better when she gets to fever code.

Just figured out after whom Harriet from tmr is named after.

Harriet Tubman

She was a slave in Maryland. As a teen, she watched a slave trying to flee and was commended to help hold him down. She didn’t so the guard threw a rock against her head. It caused her brain damage and permanent migraine and hallucinations.

She flew slavery in her 20s and returned several times to free about 70 more slaves from Maryland.

After that she became an important spy for the northern states in the civil war helping them free again several hundred slaves.

She died 1913 as a hero

A lot of monuments were build for her and I think she is pretty fucking awesome.

In my head, Harriet would carry that name with pride if she knew about her.

Idk if anyone already posted about this but I think it’s important to know since I feel like the names of the girls are very unexplored compared to the boys (and Theresas) names.

„Do you really have to blare music through a possibly infested supermarket?“ Gally complains. Minho just grins wide and nods. He is having his fun with the musicplayer again.

„My daddy’s got a gun, my daddy’s got a gun …“the records starts playing, he sings along under his breath. „What?“ he asks innocently, „Maybe they get scared from the lyrics or somethin‘.“

„I don’t think so.“ Jorge retorts. „It’s worth a try.“ „If you say so muchacho.“ Brenda huffs to confirm him.

Gally just rolls his eyes and continues walking down the hall. Newt looks at his asian friend with a crooked head. Suddenly, said friends face lits up. Uh oh, this usually means a stupid idea. „Minho.“ Newt says with a concern in his voice. Minho tells it out loud anyway „Would you rather like something else?“

„Minho no“ Thomas says in the same tone as Newt, just louder now. „Minho yes!“ Brenda says encurraging. „Minho No!“ Newt yells towards her. „Minho yes!“ Minho exclaimes and presses play.
