Ok so. I was thinking that leopardstar and stonefur are pretty similar to Emma and mr knightley* respectively (obviously not 100% match) and that they learn and grow from each other like Emma and mr knightley. But there are also other parallels like mudfur and Emma’s father (concerned with everyone’s health vs. being a literal doctor) and blackclaw and mistyfoot marrying each other.
* Emma’s knowledge that she doesn’t need to/won’t marry if she doesn’t want to, matchmaking (which is kind of a thing in LSH but I know you haven’t read it), plus the personality match. Mr. Knightley trying to advise Emma/ see the consequences of her actions.
And then there’s the whole “if I loved you less, I might be able to talk about it more” quote which comes from mr Knightley but if we’re being real, could apply to both leopard and stone.
I’m not really sure about Harriet in this, since I think Sasha would be the closest equivalent but I’m not going to put tigerstar in mr. Martin’s spot.
It’s not 100% fleshed out and i would have to re read Emma before actually doing anything with it but I have So Many thoughts if you’re curious (or would love to hear anyone else’s).
