Kind of out of the blue but I just wanted to say I shipped leopardstar/stonefur for years and I think I saw two fics for them so thank you for that.

Ok so. I was thinking that leopardstar and stonefur are pretty similar to Emma and mr knightley* respectively (obviously not 100% match) and that they learn and grow from each other like Emma and mr knightley. But there are also other parallels like mudfur and Emma’s father (concerned with everyone’s health vs. being a literal doctor) and blackclaw and mistyfoot marrying each other.
* Emma’s knowledge that she doesn’t need to/won’t marry if she doesn’t want to, matchmaking (which is kind of a thing in LSH but I know you haven’t read it), plus the personality match. Mr. Knightley trying to advise Emma/ see the consequences of her actions.
And then there’s the whole “if I loved you less, I might be able to talk about it more” quote which comes from mr Knightley but if we’re being real, could apply to both leopard and stone.
I’m not really sure about Harriet in this, since I think Sasha would be the closest equivalent but I’m not going to put tigerstar in mr. Martin’s spot.
It’s not 100% fleshed out and i would have to re read Emma before actually doing anything with it but I have So Many thoughts if you’re curious (or would love to hear anyone else’s).

as for how long...stonefur and leopardstar have been together basically forever. that's how i always like to write them. stonefur has been following leopardstar basically as long as he's been alive. it was a pretty natural progression of things. i can't remember where i establish/will establish some of the details, but they're just Like That.
i'm not exactly sure when tigerstar comes into the mix, but he's fairly recent. we're talking...maybe around the beginning of tpb? i'm undecided.
anyway as a "thanks for the question i really like this au" treat,
Leopardstar churrs when he finishes. “That’s enough, Stonefur.” She nuzzles his cheek. “You did good.” He’s panting, breathless, and doesn’t bother trying to speak. “It was very impressive,” Tigerstar agrees.
