ALL OF THE NUMBERS FOR DAN. EVERY LAST ONE.
Bless you <3 (Here’s the post, if anyone wants to see it!)
Putting this under a read more because it’s going to be long.
1) What position doesyour character sleep in? ( i.e; stomach, side, back, etc. ) Describewhy they do this — optional.
When sleeping alone, Danusually falls asleep on his back, and unless he’s restless, staysthat way - usually because of it’s the easiest position for him tolay and think/meditate. If he’s sick or there are environmentalreasons, he might end up on one side or the other. When sleeping withTheron, he sleeps on his side against/curled around Theron’s chest.
2) Does yourcharacter have any noteworthy features? Freckles? Dimples? A scarsomewhere unusual? etc.
Dan has a scar across hisright eye from damage taken in the sacking of the Jedi temple when hewas young. He has a birth mark on his neck and random freckles acrosshis back and arms.
3) Does yourcharacter have an accent? What does it sound like?
No accent, just standardCoruscant/Core-worlds basic. He is wont to speak a bit slower andwith more enunciation, but that’s because of his diplomatic/publicspeaking training.
4) Do they have anyverbal tics? Do they have trouble pronouncing certain words orgetting their thoughts across clearly?
Not Dan. Any issues he wouldhave had in this vein would have been ironed out as he trained fordiplomacy. The only time he has trouble getting his thoughts acrossclearly is when he’s exceedingly tired (such as when he went fornearly two days with no sleep when Theron was captured), and if youever do hear him tongue-tied, it means something extraordinary isgoing on.
5) What are theirchief tension areas?
Back and shoulders. Back fromtoo much paperwork, shoulders from internalizing any stress so thatit doesn’t appear outwardly.
6) If you were topick one song — and only one song — to describe your character, what would it be and why?
I can’t tell you why, butthis one (2 Steps from Hell, “Everlasting”):
https://youtu.be/KFcwvsc522Y
or this one (2 Steps fromHell, “Destiny Will Wait”):
https://youtu.be/SN8Ev0Obhms
7) How does yourcharacter perceive themselves? Positive? Negative? Neutral?
Positive/neutral mix. Heknows he’s not perfect, but he feels comfortable that he alwaysfollows what he believes is the best and most “right” thingto do, and he tries to always leave things better for everyone else.
8) Are they a quickthinker or do they need time to sort through their thoughts?
He can be a quick thinkerwhen the situation requires it, but he’s much more comfortable withtaking time to think about it or meditate on it.
9) Does yourcharacter dream or are their nights filled with an empty blackness?Describe a dream they’ve had or a night they couldn’t sleep andwhat they did to preoccupy their time.
Dan certainly dreams, although usually the dreams are calm or unmemorable. He will dreamabout things that weigh on his mind, which means that more oftensince he met Theron he dreams of Theron - concerns about what mightbe between them, or what the future holds, as well as a few dreamsthat are just enjoyable.
10) If they had achoice, would they prefer a subway or a bus for publictransportation?
Likely subway, since it’smore likely to get to his destination more quickly. Neither areparticularly “enjoyable”, so whichever serves the purposebetter. He doesn’t mind a longer journey with time to take in thescenery, say in a speeder car (as long as the situation is noturgent), but just not a thranta, please.
11) What do they think ofcreation? Do they believe in evolution or do they believe in God?What is their religion like?
All life comes from theLiving Force, and returns to it at the end. “There is no death, there is only the Force.”
12) Describe 5 unusualcharacteristics your character has.
Unsure how many of thesecount as unusual, but: 1) has odd moments of naiveté, 2) strangelyput off by thrantas, 3) enjoys junk food more than is healthyeven if he doesn’t often indulge, 4) likes Hoth
13) Have they ever been sooverwhelmed they had to stop and take a break from something?
Happens more often than he’dprobably like to admit, but being able to meditate really helps inthat regard. Council meetings are not always as calm and gracious asthey’d like outsiders to think, after all. Then, when Theron wascaptured by the Revanites, well... he probably should stoppedand taken a break, although he didn’t.
14) Are they a team playeror do they prefer to be solo?
Dan works well either way,but he’s more used to being a solo player at a group event, oftenbeing called in to mediate diplomatic disputes, which means he has to be separate from any party. However, since meeting Theron and Lana, he does a lot more “group” work and finds that he enjoys it more than he expected.
15) Can they multi-task or must they focus on one subject at a time?
Being able to meditate helps with things like multi-tasking, and he’s easily able to handle several things at once unless it’s incredibly complex, or he’s tired.
16) What are their best school subjects? What are their worst? List five of each.
Dan’s long been out of school, but he was good at history, Force theory, political science, healing, and diplomacy. Not so good at combat, survival (like, boy scout stuff), or math.
17) Is your character an introvert or an extrovert? How do they handle big crowds of people?
In his personal life he probably leans more towards being introverted than extroverted - he’d rather have a nice quiet night at home or with a few friends than go out to the casinos. He’s very good at handling crowds, however, so being out amongst large groups of people isn’t a problem with him in any way.
18) Are they a leader, do they prefer to follow, or would they rather just stay on the sidelines altogether?
By nature of his work he tends to lead more often than he follows, but if someone knows more than he does or has a valid plan, he’s glad to follow. He’ll never stay on the sidelines - the galaxy will never know the kind of peace that would allow that.
19) If your character was suddenly challenged, would they rather run away or stay and fight?
Dan would always try to find a diplomatic and non-violent resolution, but he’ll never run away from a valid fight. He won’t be goaded into stupid fights, though, and usually he knows how to tell the difference.
20) If your character was allowed to murder one person without any consequences, who would that person be and why?
At one time, the answer would have been “no one”, but given the current state of the galaxy, his mind would probably go to Vitiate before he shook his head and declined the chance.
21) Your character has been granted 3 wishes; what would they wish for and why?
1) Balance in the galaxy 2) Lasting peace with the Empire (on both sides) and he’d be torn on 3). Part of him knows he should wish for something like “freedom and happiness for all sentient creatures” but part of him would also want to wish for the ability to have a long, happy, and worthwhile life with Theron without ever having to choose between love and duty.
22) Does your character trust people right off the bat or does it take them some time to warm up to someone?
Trust within reason, while keeping his eyes open to signs and signals that all is not as it seems, something he’s learned to do well in the course of being a diplomat.
23) Do they prefer romance or affection? What is the quickest way to your character’s heart?
In the end, he’d probably choose affection, although small, private displays of romance give him a little thrill he can’t deny. the quickest way to his heart is to be kind, open, and responsible. Also to have a butt like Theron Shan’s.
24) Does your character have any enemies? If so, who and why?
There are more than a few who would hate him simply because he is a Jedi, and more on top of that who have been on the painful side of his justice, who may never forgive him for it. He does his best, however, to resolve disputes while hurting the fewest people, and quite a few Sith who mistrust Jedi have learned to trust him.
25) Do they have any weird bedroom habits? Any unusual kinks?
Not particularly; when it comes to sex he’s a relatively normal/healthy lover - not vanilla, but there aren’t any odd or unexpected kinks.
26) How does your character prepare for bed? Do they sleep at all or can they stay awake for days on end without trouble?
Depends on the situation; at home, it’s a normal clean up, change, meditate, sleep routine (except when Theron’s added to the mix and then there’s some cuddling and ++). In dire situations, he can usually sleep (or meditate) whenever he needs to, although not quite to the extent of a soldier. He can stay awake for days on end with the Force to sustain him but he’s going to be bloody exhausted and drained in the end.
27) If your character had one thing to say to their parents before they died, what would it be?
“Thank you for everything you did for me, I know you did all that was in your power, and that you died thinking of me. I have always tried to live up to your examples.” (They died when he was very young).
28) Are they afraid of death? Do they have any regrets?
Not afraid of death, no, although having something to lose does make him a little more wary of the idea (although it won’t change his willingness to sacrifice himself if it’s necessary). His only regret would be to die without finishing his duty, or saying good bye.
29) Does your character get restless when things are too quiet or do they favour solitude and silence? Why?
As a Jedi, he favours solitude and silence, and any quiet time he can get - especially if he can get it with Theron. The galaxy is already busy enough, and he’s already on the go all the time; quiet moments are few and far between and are meant to be taken advantage of whenever it’s possible.
30) Finally; if your character was forced to eat one thing for the rest of their life, what would they choose and why?
Nerf stew. Loves it. There’s also room for variety in it, and it’s usually pretty easy to make.
