physics team coming at ya. we prefer milkshakes, scrubs
Update: He slept, got his head screwed on straight. Thanks everyone.
I finally finished up at the park. We were doing an informational presentation at the nature center about leaf litter, and why to not bag your leaves this fall.
Time to go Pocket hunting.
Big news today.
An Indoor Pool pocket formed in our bathroom, and we luckily brought along enough equipment to take water samples. Tested pH, density, etc- haven't gotten many opportunities like this, after all.
The water is ALIVE. It's an entire pool of microorganisms, linked together. Mimicking water.
This is insane. If the beings in there can mimic water, what CAN'T they mimic?
It brings into question the entire idea of what LEPST might be- I have so many theories, I NEED to start writing.
God I wish I wasn't so tired.
STOP PUTTING YOUR TRASH INTO POCKETS
STOP IT. Pockets are not persistent, they are temporary spaces outside of reality! They will spit out anything that was not originally inside! Stop putting your litter in there! They are not trashcans! Furthermore, the entities inside could potentially try to eat or interact with the trash and be harmed! I cannot believe I need to say this!
SO I JUST HAD THE SCARE OF MY LIFE.
GUESS WHAT PERSISTENT CREATURE SHOWED UP AT OUR APARTMENT DOOR??
It showed up bleeding and battered, holding a bloody shovel. Looked like it belonged to one of the neighbors across the street, the one with the garden out back.
Penny helped patch them up. Bandaged it and sent the thing on its way- It knows where we live, so at least it can come back if something bad happens.
I'm gonna have a talk with the neighbor and return the shovel tomorrow.
Another Pocket spawned in our bathroom! This time it was a suburbia-esque thing, but that's not the important part- I discovered that the grass within the Pocket is actually a large siphonophore-like False Plant, linking itself together! This is incredible, it spans nearly the entire area- I don't regret bringing my microscope in my backpack, this is awesome.

I feel jetlagged. This is the longest time a pocket has stayed open with me inside of it. Got Penny to hold the notebook open while I took the picture-
Correction to the notes: It was a pencil. Not a pen.
This is what the Corporis gave me. I don't know how to feel about this right now. I'd be elated, I think, if I had the energy.
It's definitely an indication of intelligence, at least. The ability to observe and take notes, when it sees someone else doing so.
