Eclipse's Upgrades
Author’s Note:
Hey, so… long-time, no-see. I’m crawling out of my hole to bring a fanfic in service of The Security Breach Shows, specifically the new Eclipse and Saturn Show. I’ve been a fan of these channels for years, and its high time I give in to my inner fanfic gremlin and write!
Sumary:
Eclipse hates going to get upgraded, so when it's revealed that he's missed several upgrades and needs another urgently, Chica and Saturn grow curious as to why he's so apposed to it. Could it have something to do with his... sensitive motherboard?

Eclipse was cleaning up the tops of the play structures as Saturn cleaned things at the bottom of the play area. They had gotten used to this arrangement after a few weeks of trying it. Saturn was adapting well to normal daycare duties. While her etiquette on how to deal with kids still needed some work, he could tell that the familiar and repetitive routine of preparing and cleaning up every day was comforting to her, and it was something she was getting better at every day. He made sure to tell her every day how well she was doing, normally earning a flustered grunt in response.
Eclipse normally handled cleaning and checking the inside of the play structures, including the bridge, the slides, the pathways and the very tippy tops of the castles and towers. He checked for debris and to see if anything had been broken. He knew Saturn would love to do the same, once expressing that she would like to stand on top of one of the massive structures to exude her power in the daycare. Unfortunately, his large wife wouldn’t even fit inside the tunnels, and even though the play structures could handle a lot at once, the thought of her climbing up the side of it to reach the top terrified him from her sheer weight and determination. The whole play structure could collapse, and didn’t want Saturn to get hurt! Even though it was a shame her size was sometimes detrimental to her, it did give Eclipse an advantage when-
“EEEECLIIIIPSE!”
Ah. There it was. The dreadful call of the little UN-helpful Helpy.
“ECLIPSE, ECLIPSE, ECLIPSE! MY STOCKS! MY STOCKS NEED TO STAY HIGH!”
Eclipse gulped, he knew what that meant.
“Please stop shouting or I will punt you.” Saturn’s deep, nearly deadpan voice echoed from below.
“Oh, no, I will NOT! Eclipse needs an upgrade! It’s VERY important he gets to Parts and Services IMMIDIATELY!” Eclipse could see Helpy hopping up and down, his little stubby arms flailing about as Saturn stood with her arms crossed.
“Dear!” He heard her call to him. “Please come down!”
“On my way!” Eclipse sighed and started walking down a slide, his blue and orange pants bunching up as his legs bent, his shoes causing echoing taps on the inside of the cylinders. He hoped he could convince them he was okay without it for today. If not, well, he wouldn’t make it easy for them.
“Yes, my beautiful queen?” He cooed as he exited the slide, catching the slight, brief blush that spread across Saturn’s face, her voice getting caught in her throat before she could speak.
“ECLIPSE! It’s time to get upgraded! I’ve already let Chica know and she’s waiting for you in Parts and Services!” Helpy ran over to him, squirming in place.
“Oh dear, I don’t know about that.” Eclipse started to twist his body awkwardly as Helpy tried to get behind him to check his system updates. He would never tell Saturn or his friends, but he had skipped several updates over the past few weeks. He knew full-well this was a bad habit of his… but those updates are small and insignificant! He shouldn’t need to stop 2 times a week to have Chica mess with the back of his head!
As Eclipse thought about that UNBEARABLE feeling, Helpy managed to jump juuust high enough to catch a glimpse of Eclipse’s data, and gasped dramatically with his hands to his face.
“Eclipse! Your drivers are over a month old! You need to go, now!” The little bear hopped up and down like a toddler in a tantrum as Saturn took a step toward him, her golden eyes piercing him as her expression hardened.
“Uhm- no thank you!” Eclipse turned and quickly ran back into the structures, feeling his discomfort grow.
It wasn’t just that Parts and Services was where most of his negative memories stemmed from, including Sun and Moon’s as well, but whenever he was strapped down in that chair, and Chica messed with his sensitive wiring, it always filled him with a strange panic. A need to get away from that touch. ‘Sensitive’ is what Chica and the other called it. So far, he had kept himself from fully breaking in that chair with them around, though some of the human staff knew of his secret. He knew it was inevitable that they eventually found out, but it was so embarrassing! Every time he went, he could tell Chica grew more and more curious of his… sensitivities.
He paused as he heard his wife grumble from a few feet below him.
“Your companions have told me many times this is mandatory for your health. I will not have you sabotaging yourself! It is foolish for a soldier to compromise their own means for no good reason! Now come here!” Saturn’s voice boomed from below as Eclipse shuttered.
“I would much prefer we wait! We still need to finish prepping today!” Eclipse tried to argue.
Saturn growled lowly, getting impatient with her love. She did love him very much, but whenever it came to this topic, her scrawny, cute little husband acted more childish than the little soldiers he looked after. The worse part was that she didn’t even fully understand why. Yes, the procedures in the cylinder were uncomfortable for him, but then why resist so valiantly as if defying a corrupt authority? He had been painted, hit, and pulled like a chew-toy between the little soldiers before, so why was this such a big deal? She wanted to understand, she wanted to learn, but she never would with him acting like this. She was too big to enter the structures, and Helpy was too small to drag him anywhere…
“You can’t stay up there forever!” She called, her voice dipping into that warning tone she was known for before her military-esk training took over.
“I know that! I’m not hiding, I’m just cleaning!” Eclipse’s voice shook and trembled like a leaf. The lie as hidden as an elephant in a living room.
Saturn quickly scrubbed through her memory of the last time this issue had come up. Eclipse had gone willingly, but got a little flustered when she mentioned carrying him. This was something they had done several times since, and it seemed to calm his nerves. Perhaps she could use a known weakness of her own that her one-and-only constantly used on her, to get him to comply. Teasing.
“If you do not come down now, I will change my mind about carrying you!” Eclipse froze at the thought.
His blue queen carrying him through the hallways. It had happened before, on rare occasion. He could always feel the warmth of her love penetrating his heart like an arrow from Cupid’s Bow whenever she carried him. During those times he would hear her breathing so clearly, and it acted as a meditation soundtrack as he felt her heartbeat radiate through her strong veins and felt his thin body be surrounded by hers, keeping it safe against the world…
“Oh stars…” He whispered under his breath.
“I’m going to count to 10!” Saturn warned. “And then I’m calling Chica and Foxy to come get you! And I will no longer be carrying you there!” Saturn knew she must’ve done something right because Helpy suddenly looked up at her with a big smile, his little white and purple ears flicking.
Eclipse tapped his fingers against his folded arms. Using one of his own tactics with the kids? That was SO not fair! She had been picking up on his rhetoric. However, as Saturn started counting down from 10, he knew he couldn’t resist.
Saturn hadn’t even gotten to 8 when Eclipse promptly slid down a slide near her feet.
“So… are you really going to carry me?” His shaky voice echoed from within the slide as his hands fiddled with each other, his blushing face hidden.
“I would never lie to you, my love. Now come here…” She smiled down at him and opened her large, blue arms as Eclipse sat up and practically leapt into them.
Once she had a decent grip on him, Eclipse melted like the plastic-packed cheese that got put on their tacos as Saturn started walking toward where they needed to go.
“Don’t worry Saturn! I’ll help remind you how to get there!” Helpy had to run stay ahead of Saturn’s long strides. Meanwhile, Eclipse was trying to keep himself distracted with the blissful feeling of being carried by his steadfast partner. Being this close to her was starting to get him flustered, but he didn’t necessarily mind right that second.
“Oh no, you’re burning up…” Saturn gently felt his head. “You are overheating…”
“It’s no problem… I promise…” Eclipse’s weak voice whimpered from her arms.
“Hmm, I should use this weakness of yours against you more often…” Saturn couldn’t contain her smile as Eclipse just sighed happily, his eyes rolling slightly upward.
“Please do…” His voice came out barely a whisper.
Within no time at all, the trio were in Parts and Services. Chica turned to look and nearly squealed at the sight. Eclipse looked so relaxed! Saturn was truly a good wife to him. The chicken had her doubts before, but now she knew they were meant to be.
“Oh my gosh! You finally picked up your man! Hiiii Clippers!” The chicken waved enthusiastically.
“We’ve done this before!” Saturn defended. “I’ve picked him up many times.”
Eclipse covered his face from his own bashfulness. Having his wife and close friend talking about him while he lay there, helpless, was making his face feel hot. He was embarrassed, and he hadn’t even gotten into the cylinder yet! This might be harder than he thought.
“Either waayyyy, I’m a-SO glad it’s happening!” Chica giggled softly. Her speech patterns were always strange-sounding to Saturn, but Eclipse assured her that it was okay, and not meant to be abrasive in any way.
“Now, let’s get bestie into the cylinder.” Chica paused as Eclipse groaned in feeble defiance. “Look, I get it, you hate that thing. It’s SO not comfy and your poor motherboard is always so… sensitive... but you need this, Clippers!”
Eclipse flinched and hid in is wife’s arms. There was that dreaded word again. Sensitive. He knew he would have to face this eventually, but stars, did he want to just hide in his wife’s embrace forever.
Unfortunately, Saturn walked him inside the cylinder and dropped him into the chair.
“Okay! I’m going to check on the others! See you all later!” Helpy called as he quickly left the room.
“N-Now, let’s not be hasty.” His shaky voice echoed off the walls. He could feel his stress and unease grow with the fleeting warmth of his love exiting his body.
Saturn’s muffled voice came from the other side of the glass.
“I promise, I’m not leaving you here, my love. I will ensure you are okay. Just like I did last time. I know you don’t like this, but I will not risk you malfunctioning.”
Eclipse sighed as Chica entered the chamber. “You gotta listen to your girl, bestie.” Her voice was loud, as usual, and sweet… too sweet.
“Just… please be careful… last time it felt unbearable…” He admitted softly.
“Over-and-out, Clippers.” Chica strapped him down and started getting to work.
As Chica lazily moved his wires around, Eclipse was flinching this way and that, as per usual, and making little sounds like squeaks and grunts. The sassy chicken had always been curious as to why Eclipse was the only one affected this badly by having their motherboard touched. For her, it just felt a little uncomfy, like the equivalent of pressing Velcro to a human’s skin, or having peanut butter packed-tight all over their legs. But Eclipse was acting like this hurt him, even though he insisted it didn’t. Then what was his aversion to it? Why? She wanted to understand her bestie better and knew Saturn felt the same way, and so, the demon on her shoulder winning the argument, she decided to start testing something while Eclipse was at her mercy.
Saturn gasped as Eclipse let out a yelp of sort. It was louder than his previous squeaks and something she hadn’t really heard from him before.
“Are you sure you aren’t hurting him??” Saturn’s voice broke through the otherwise quiet room, but Chica nodded her head at her reassuringly.
Oh no… oh no no no… Eclipse started to panic as he felt the unbearable sensation of Chica’s skittering fingernails going up and down the side of his head, her long digits gently wiggling in between each of his rays.
“A-what?” Chica’s voice pipped up behind him. “I’m just trying to keep myself… entertained. It’s not like this is all that exciting.”
Oh stars. Oh stars, this was bad. Eclipse could feel his chest shaking. Shaking... with laughter. His legs gave a few kicks as his eyes stayed glued on the frosty and somewhat distorted iteration of his wife through the glass. Seeing her concerned expression gave him resolve. Everything was fine. He wasn’t hurt. He couldn’t make her worry. He wasn’t going to laugh.
“Wow… I wonder…” Chica’s hands started to wonder away from his head… towards his sides, chest, and tummy. “… if THIS might be a problem.”
Eclipse let out a strained noise as he desperately tried to keep all of the little noises inside. That chicken’s long fingernails were sending maddening jolts of electricity through his body. It tickled so badly! He started arching his back and throwing his head back and forth, his body desperate to escape the feeling.
Saturn crossed her arms. “That is it, I’m coming in!” She opened the cylinder and promptly entered, even her footsteps loud and commanding.
Chica turn to her nervously. “What’s wrong?”
Saturn’s expression turned to that of an investigator as she stared down her nose at Chica, who paused her hands to stare back.
“If he is truly unharmed, why is he moving the exact same way as my tortured inmates when I try to get information from them?” Her tone dipped to dangerous levels. “He’s leaning away from your touch, and he’s yelping like a kicked puppy. How is that NOT hurt??”
Eclipse felt a surge of energy go through him. ANYTHING to keep the girls from fighting.
“It doesn’t hurt, dear! I promise!”
“Then WHAT is it??” Chica’s annoyed tone cut his off. “You keep SAYING it doesn’t hurt, so either your lying, which is something you NEVER do, or it’s THIS!” With that, the white-feathered foul sealed his fate.
Both of her hands flew down to his tummy and waist and started scratching and squeezing as his outer shell. It caught him by such surprise, that he couldn’t hold it in.
“OHOHOHO! NOHOHOHO!” His face grew red as he began to laugh and wiggle in his restraints. He had to stop laughing! But he had already learned with the humans who loved doing this to him that once he started laughing, it was extremely hard for him to stop. “OHOHOHOHOHO NOHOHOHO! DOHOHOHOHONT!” His arms pulled, his legs kicked and his head shook back and forth but Chica did not stop, just looked at him smugly. Saturn’s expression behind her was of bewilderment.
“What IS that?” She asked softly, her pale yellow eyes looking down at her love with more confusion than he had ever seen written on her face.
Chica paused her hands and turned around to look at her as Eclipse took the chance to breathe and try to regain his composure.
“It’s called-”
“NOTHING!” Eclipse interrupted. “It’s nothing! I’m fine!” He could feel the heat radiating off his face as Chica stared at him with a ‘really?’ expression.
“It’s okay if you’re embarrassed, but she needs to know.” She stated simply. “It’s tickling. A phenomenon in humans and some robots where touch makes them enter a fight or flight response, and makes them laugh!”
“Is this some kind of… training?” Saturn cocked her head in a way that just so adorable to Eclipse as he whined from behind Chica.
“I guess so. I think it was a way for humans to practice self-defense with their children without hurting them…? Or something? For some reason, some of us animatronics have those feelings, too! But to many, it’s SO embarrassing, so it doesn’t happen often, except with the little ones.
Saturn took a moment to internalize this information. It didn’t hurt, but whoever was under this kind of attack was still privy to avoid it. She got a few flashes of being pinned down in her youth, as panicked and helpless laughter filled the air. This was a pastime her and her siblings had participated in when they were young! It was a good way to test their abilities and strengths. But that was many, many, years ago… Her attention was brought back to the present as Eclipse let out a strangled yelp, dissolving into giggles and snorts as Chica focused on the center of his tummy.
“WAIHIHIHIHIT!” His smiling, blushing face was truly something to behold. Saturn didn’t think she had ever seen him that way. She certainly hadn’t heard him so frantic and happy-sounding at the same time. It filled her chest with a strange warmth as she took a step forward.
Meanwhile, Eclipse was losing his mind, laughing. This wasn’t the first time this had been done to him. As mentioned, the human technicians had already discovered his humiliating secret. But their soft, fleshy fingers didn’t tickle NEARLY as much as Chica’s sharp, metal fingernails.
Saturn stooped next to his head and he could feel warmth spread from his face and rays down to his neck and chest as she smiled at him.
“Are you okay, dear? Do you want us to stop?” She rested a hand on his shaking chest, making him squeak through his cackles.
“YES!”
“NO!”
Two voices shouted at Eclipse. Moon used to hate physical contact, while Sun LIVED for it. Of course he’d feel torn about this…
“Chica, please stop so I can hear his answer.” Saturn commanded. Softly, but still a command.
Chica stopped instantly and stared up at the two with wide eyes.
“Do you like or dislike this feeling?” Saturn asked again.
Eclipse looked up at her. If he was blushing before, his face was a bonfire now.
“I like that it makes me laugh…” He admits. “But… it’s SO embarrassing… I was trying to keep it a secret, you see. It’s weird… that I’m one of the only ones who has these… feelings.” His head dipped a little in shame, his wires nearly frying from how hot his head felt.
“Hhhmmm… are you willing to try something?” Saturn sat up and moved in front of him, raising his dipped head toward her with the gentleness and elegance of a goddess blessing a peon.
“If I can keep you distracted with these feelings elsewhere on your body, Chica can finish your updates without making you so uncomfortable, yes?” Eclipse’s eyes widened. The thought of his wife’s hands all over his body-WHY was he thinking like that?? He was a daycare attendant for Pete’s sake! But he couldn’t lie to himself. He liked that thought.
“We can... try it…” He smiled up at her, his eyes the size of saucers as she smiled at him.
“I must say… you look really cute when you laugh like that…” Saturn nearly snorted at Eclipse as he squeaked and let his eyes cross, growing even more flustered.
Saturn nodded to Chica and she started running the diagnostics, moving the wires where they needed to go to be properly updated. That still felt, weird… but Eclipse chose to focus instead on Saturn’s hands gently tracing shapes on his sides and tummy. He let little giggles and squeals out as his eyes met hers. Her golden eyes and cute sparkly star-like freckles on her ocean-blue face calmed him. Her eyes held a soft, warm feeling as they stared down at him.
Eclipse found himself oddly relaxed, melting into the different tickly touches as Chica finished his upgrades. Saturn’s soft expression made him feel so safe while strapped down to this chair. Why was he even worried about this? This was nice. Saturn was enjoying herself, too. She loved when Eclipse was happy, and this was a new way she could do that, especially during a time where he was normally so stressed. Now she got to see him as flustered and feeble as he made her feel on the regular. This could be a gateway into a brand new type of dynamic between them. It would level the playing fields with all the teasing he got away with. Now at least she knew she could tease him with his sensitive body.
“Ehehehehehehe… mmhmhmhmhmhmhm… NGGGGYAAAA!” He suddenly screamed as Chica tazed the joints directly under his arms.
“Sorry-nots-sorry, bestie! Your update is over…” She removed the constraints and Eclipse immediately curled up, covering all the spots that had been tickled, still giggling softly.
Saturn nodded and tried to help Eclipse stand. “Come on, I’m not going to carry you again.”
Buuuuut Eclipse just flopped to the side.
“Uhmmm, you may not have much of a choice, girl.” Chica giggled.
Saturn sighed and lifted Eclipse’s limp body into her arms. It only took a couple seconds until he was out. Completely asleep.
“You two are really perfect for each other…” Chica gave Saturn a bright smile.
The queen sighed and rolled her eyes as she walked out, but couldn’t help but smile when she looked down at her sleepy love. He was making soft cooing noises in his sleep like a peaceful dove from a land of bliss far beyond her reach. She pressed a kiss to his head, letting happiness fill her heart yet again.
Hopefully, Eclipse would feel a lot better about getting upgrades from now on.
