A lesbian term for lesbians who love in any "soft" manner. "Soft" may mean a variety of things. (Examples: sweet dates, soft kisses, cuddles, hugs, baking for a partner, etc.)

This may tie in with being a bambi lesbian, but does not have to. This is not necessarily a term for those who prefer non-sexual acts over sexual acts, but rather soft acts over less soft acts, whatever that may mean to the user.

Any of our terms or flags or posts may be added to archives, wikis, other sites, etc. This is encouraged, in fact! Archives are important! I do not mind where you use my terms.

So I think I'm a demiboy, but I'm still pretty feminine. I'm attracted to feminine people, (like feminine women, non-binary, demigender and genderfluid folks). I'm comfortable with the lesbian label, but I was wondering if I can even use the lesbian label, because I'm not a woman.

S o, before I get into this, there are a lot of opinions, a lot of controversy.

I can only speak as someone who previously ID'ed as a lesbian and can only speak as someone who has done limited research on views on this topic. At the end of the day, no one can stop you from using one label over another, and no one can stop you from using a 'mere' word.

Also, a word is just that. A word. Words are vague, malleable, and up for interpretation. Language is flawed and often, there is a lack of coherence and unity in agreements concerning definitions and interpretations, and there's no denying that. This is, I guess, what can be attributed to many of the discrepancies and disagreements in the use of terminology in namely the lgbtq+ community. Just keep that in mind.

Generally, from what I've gathered, I'd suppose any non-male, attracted to non-males could be labelled a lesbian. Someone who aligns their gender with masculinity to some degree whether it be as e.g. a bigender person, demiguy, enby guy, etc. might perhaps want to ask themselves how they might fit under the label 'lesbian'

I suppose it's all on a person-to-person basis, and whether you feel that the label is right for you and you feel as though its right for you.

Again, this is just my view on this and I'm happy to hear out anyone else if they want to correct me or add another perspective :))

REMINDER: gender =/= gender expression, gender does not necessarily equate to gender expression and vice versa

TLDR call yourself whatever you like if you think it's right for you, no one can really do anything about it in the end. The typically modern understanding of a lesbian tho is a non-man attracted to non-men

Why Labels Matter

PSA: If you're a woman who's into both men and women, that's called "bisexual." You can use the LGBT community umbrella term "gay" (or "queer"), but you do a disservice to lesbians if you call yourself a "lesbian." How? 1) You're bucking the dictionary itself. 2) You perpetuate the myth that all lesbians are really into men. So, don't be that gal. Own who you are. It's okay to be bisexual. It's also okay to figure it out as you go through life. 🏳️‍🌈
