Story behind your Nancy Drew url: well i found sarahplaysnancydrew and i was like “this is cool i wanna do this” so i had the fuckin GENIUS idea of taking her url and just adding MY name instead of HERS

How were you introduced to the games: my parents bought me two games for a gift once when i was a kid and they were like “YOU ONLY GET ONE. CHOOSE” and i chose danger on deception island and my god it was the only good thing i have ever done in this life

Favorite game/(s): DDI SSH CUR ICE DED CRY SHA

Favorite food from the games: i always want to eat that rice dish in CRY. i actually want it right now im so hungry omg someone send me a box of zatarain’s

Favorite character from the games: i love henrik, lupe, ingrid, henry, minette, sonny, hilda, jane p, john grey, jamila, the hubbards, & grigor (edit: i forgot nicholas falcone, my husband. omg. sorry babe)

Favorite fandom ships: does colton/henry count because it’s not really a fandom ship, it’s something i made up and it never caught on but it’s obviously the best. also ned/henry, deirdre/ned, bess/logan. those are all good.

Random facts about me: im a homebody and i dont have friends so i read like 200 books a year. also im so into musical theatre it’s not even funny. who wants to talk about tony nom predictions? pals im here

Meet the Clue Crew: Catherine (elizabethmarvin)

Story behind my URL: bessmarvin was taken but elizabethmarvin was available and I was desperate. That’s also the story of a few people I’ve slept with.

Introduction to games: my great aunt Maris bought me ICE for a Christmas gift. I took me a few years and about a dozen restarts to even get past Tino’s god forsaken quiz. stg my penchant for cursing developed because of hearing “you did something wrong, nancy” and “do it over” so many fucking times as a preteen. Turns out ‘y’ and ‘n’ are not accepted answers for “Hates paprika?”

Favorite games: ooooh so I hate this question. It fluctuates frequently. A few games I can always play and dig are TRN, ASH, and LIE. I really really really love DOG rn, which is funny because i initially loathed it until I replayed it. Fav food from the games: ICE cooking and ASH ice cream!

Fav characters from game: other than the given Bess and Joe: everyone in LIE. I love Anja too. She’s so…devious. Edging Nancy on about the monster and all. Also I find her desperately attractive so. Alec Fell ruins me. Read below. And I loveeee the cast of ASH too, except for Bitch Ass Carlton.

Fav fandom ships: ok. Ok ok ok. I’m obviously a Joe/Bess supporter. But I have very finicky head canons regarding them. I love Francy too. Also if Deirdre/George could be pursued I would die. I also high key think Thanos and Nancy are going fuck every time they’re introduced in LIE (I don’t know if it’s a ship for me, but will someone please just have sex with that bearded, eloquent man already?) I also played SPY the other day and was kind of feeling m/Nancy/Alex ?¿ their dialogue is golden.

This answer is starting to get long but I have plenty more to discuss lmao.

Misc facts about me: I was in college for over four years and yet have no degree. I studied poetry for most of it, so now I have loads of poems wrote and published that will never earn me money (I.e. why I dropped out) to pay my loans. I’m now a restaurant manager (in training!) and I absolutely love my job. My boyfriend and I just celebrated 3 years, and he has a BA in Jazz performance so he’s freelance musician and private teacher. I’m also a huge hockey fan, Sci-fi nerd, and obsessed w make up.

How were you introduced to the games: my sister bought SSH after reading an article about TRT in american girl and it all went downhill from there i was like 8 and she convinced me i wasn’t allowed to play it till i was 10 because it was e 10+

Favorite game/(s): ummmmmm stfd, fin, ddi, sha, clk, trn, dan, cry, ven, wac, ash, ded, spy, sea don’t do this to me i like a lot of things

Favorite food from the games: i don’t know but it’s always been hilarious to me when nancy orders frog legs in dan because it sounds like “quice dee gre new year” and i like making fun of her

Favorite character from the games: if you’ve followed me for a while you can probably guess a few but let’s go with someone you wouldn’t guess i love leela yadav and she deserves so much more love and attention than we give her also i’ve always loved heather mckay

Favorite fandom ships: zophia but that’s a canon ship

Random facts about me: i have 2 majors and 2 minors and also i can fold a fitted sheet also i like to play uke/guitar/mandolin and some of my uke videos (including a cover of the word i couldn’t keep) are on my youtube channel so pls check them out and give me attention.

4. What are your other passions outside of Nancy Drew games? Are any of them covered (even slightly) in any of the games?

i’m pretty passionate about books and theatre and film. we have had a few author and actor characters buuut i dont know if that really covered those topics in the way i wish it did. i do enjoy the settings for fin, stfd, and lie. still waiting on a game about musicals though because musicals are my greatest love. also pretty passionate about activism which is why i appreciate nicholas falcone and guadalupe comillo so much!

5. How many hot dogs could you eat in one sitting? Would you eat faster or slower if Dwayne Powers was watching you?

6. Are there any specific kinds of characters you’d like to see show up in the Nancy Drew games?

i would like to see more diversity of abilities! why haven’t we gotten a Deaf character and had a mini game where Nancy learns how to sign the alphabet or something??? it would be so great! also a character in a wheelchair is way overdue!

7. If you switched places with Nancy and actually had to solve one of the cases yourself, you would pick:

THERE ARE TOO MANY TO CHOOSE. even though I hate that game.... tmb would be so cool because you have free range in a fucking ancient egyptian tomb?! hau because you get to literally fly everywhere on a jetpack?? ddi just because I’m dying to visit snake horse harbor. honestly i could go on with almost every game. if I’m being practical.... CLK would probably be the best game to solve irl because all the puzzles are pretty easy and there are fairly low stakes so you’re never in any danger. CUR and TRN for similar reasons although they are a bit more difficult puzzle-wise. (SPY would be a fucking nightmare and i would absolutely die or just never solve it and give up and go home)

8. If you were stranded on a desert island, which 3 inventory items from the games would you want with you?

nancys cell phone...? also the basket you carry around in CAP and it would be FULL OF PRETZELS. and a water canteen.

9. Describe yourself like Nancy Drew describes one of her suspects:

I met Karen.... she seems nice but she’s a little secretive. I asked her to tell her her deepest regrets and hardships and she refused to answer me. I think she’s hiding something.

10. Which animal from the games would you want as a pet? (yes the robot cat and robot-cat-parts-put-together count)

@lessonsfromnancy peeeersonally I don’t really consider gth god tier either but I feel like it’s seen that way by a lot of the fandom so i stuck it there to appease the masses. (same with trt.) I definitely think there are key aspects of that game that surpass any other in the series. As far as hau goes… idek. I used to consider it one of my favorite games but I grew somewhat disenchanted with it later on. Maybe I should have left that one off entirely because I have such mixed feelings about it. But I didn’t know what else to put there!
