"I could eat my ow foot right now."
Greg and Yazz
I sat down just by on the edge of the side walk. Guitar to my left and my hat to my right. I tuned the strings and began strumming a few chords. Throughout the day I had a lot of people come up to me, ask me to sing a few songs for them or they'd just place coins in the hat and walk on. I finished around the time I normally did and gathered my things together. Placed the money in a bag then zipped it away out of anyone's reach. Just as normal, I walked to starbucks that was just on the corner of the road. I took my place in the unusually large queue and waited to be served. I looked around trying to find a seat downstairs, but there wasn't any free. I placed my order and waited for my drink to arrive. "Yazz" The woman behind the counter called out. I turned and faced her. She's a small lady with chocolate brown hair that was tied tightly on top of her head "Cream with that dear?" She asked looking directly at me "Yes please." I replied. She handed the cup over to me smiling as she did. I took the flight of stairs in the corner of the shop and walked to the top. I looked around hoping for a small table that was alone. But there was only one seat. The seat was opposite a young lad, with a red hat and blonde hair peeping out the sides. He was watching the people outside rushing about. I walked over to his table and placed a hand on his shoulder. It startled him, but he turned to face me with a bright smile on his face. "Is it okay if I sit here?" I asked pointing to the spare seat. "Sure," He replied moving the bag that was placed there. He dropped the bag on the floor and continued gazing outside. I placed the cup on the table and put my bag and guitar case either side of me. I watched the people in the distance laughing, a couple arguing and a baby cry. I laughed to myself, which caught the eye of this young boy. He looked at the guitar case then back at me, "You're pretty good." He said nodding in the direction of my case then moving his head back in-line with mine. "Th..Thank you." I replied, unsure of what to say next. "Greg." He said stretching out his hand for me to take. I did so, his hand was firm around mine, it was warm and sweaty from the hot drink previously found there. "Yazz" I answered shaking his hand before letting go. I let my eyes drift into the distance, until my attention was brought back to the young boy sat in front of me. He had a paper and pen in hand and a concentrated face. He studied the art in front of him then looked up to me. I smiled whilst blushing slightly and returned to the position before. We both sat silently as everyone hustled around us. Rushing about with their frantic lives. Not once letting my eyes catch is. The shop calmed down around 6:30, quickly leaving just the two of us upstairs, still sat quietly opposite each other. He coughed softly to catch my attention. My eyes met his and a smile grew on his face. He packed away his things, still watching my eyes making sure they never left his. He rose to his feet and handed me the piece of paper he had just finished drawing on. "By Yazz." He said in a soft angelic voice. "Bye Greg." I replied before turning the paper over to see his art. Drawn in the middle of the paper was me focusing on something unknown in the distance, with a few words scribbled at the bottom. 'Yaz, please can I see you again? I'll be here same time tomorrow x' I smiled to myself before noticing his blonde hair finally disappearing beneath the stairs. I placed the art work at the base of my guitar case and headed off home. Knowing tomorrow I get to see the flawless blonde boy again.
