While You’re Young
I say do it while you’re young and stupid, because at 23... almost 24, I can say it’s worth it. Tattoos, bouncing through jobs, dating and being engaged and not making it through the engagement to the actual marriage (Thank God! Btw), dancing on bars, wanting to fuck everything on two legs and drinking way more than my liver probably approves of...
I can say at least I did it when I was young... and stupid, some say, my stupid drunk days have brought me way experiences more then my sober ones. I learned about myself, how much I can drink and what alcohol does to me, depending on my mental state. I’ve also made some of my best memories while being in my young and stupid days, I’ve traveled, I’ve danced on bars, hit on guys and girls, and walked away feeling better because I knew at least I tried and I’ve gotten tattoos that remind of why I do what I do.
I’m a big believer of doing what I can and doing what you can while you’re young and stupid. Because at one time everyone has been young and stupid and realizing it’s okay, is realizing that everyone will be and has been young and stupid, It’s actually insane to think everyone won’t be or hasn’t been. It may not be the same way, whether love or personal action, everyone looks back and thinks “damn, I should’ve known/done better.” but still that’s okay.
I’m still young and stupid and I still do and say stupid things. I’m only 23. But I learn, but sometimes life is just about the lesson and growing up. It teaches you, that what you thought was great, was rotten and what you though was a hassle, was worth it because sometimes when times are hard you need a reminder; and when times are good you need to be thankful for it all.
Plus, sometimes you make the best decisions when the world deems you young and stupid, just because you don’t fit the image it doesn’t mean you’re wrong but you only learn that by being young and stupid, adventurous, brave and not believing that you’re young and stupid; but that you’re so much more because everything that you go through makes you and will always make you, just a little better than you were before.
But,
you have to be young and stupid first, don’t forget.
AWKWARD.
Last week I went to a publishing company somewhere in Mandaluyong to apply for a writer position. On the onset of the interview, the HR asked me weird questions. Here it is as far as I remember them correctly:
I: How are you?
Me: I'm okay sir!
I: So do you have a boyfriend?
Me: (Bluff) Haven't got a boyfriend sir.
I: Why?
Me: I guess I'm not that lucky in love.
I: Oh.. so what do you know about love?
Me: Huh? (to myself).
Well, I've encountered love. I believe it's more than a word sir.
I: Do you like writing love stories?
Me: Not that much. I had so many things to learn from love.
I: Let me go back, you told me you encountered love, what's that means?
Me: I fell in love, got broke down. Got twisted.
I: How is that?
Me: It was hard but I just have to go through that. (NERVOUS)
I: I can see some soul in you.
Me: (I UNDERSTOOD WHAT HE MEANT) oh. thank you!
I felt awkward talking about my love interest. FREAKING AWKWARD. Hopefully what I said to him get me a job. I do have a job right now, but I don't settle that is why I'm still doing interviews.
