What does anything mean?

So everything has a meaning, whether we like it or not, but here's the thing... every new year is like cleaning the slate, so that means your mistakes from the last year are gone. But don't make them again, unless it was something funny. But if it would lead to you injuring yourself, don't do it.

2017 is over. On to 2018.

Like everyone else, I did the whole #2017bestnine on my Instagram posts. (Follow me! @robotmunky) And well yeah, it’s actually kinda accurate on how 2017 went for me. It’s been a fairly good year for me personally, despite the current political climate and all the other added awfulness. I don’t know that any of us consented to any of what’s happening right now…but here we are. Do better 2018. Be better. Please.

2017 was the year I turned thirty-two. I got even more into playing pinball and spent more time in SF and the East Bay playing pinball with great new friends I’ve made thru Belles & Chimes. I feel like I’ve been more honest with myself and tried to be more open and honest with others. 

I’m really happy that even among my top nine of pics, I’m not wearing a tshirt in the pics of me! I’ve definitely been trying to (and I think successfully?) wear less tshirts and more dresses and blouses. I’ve been trying to eat better, have less sugar (drinking a lot less soda! hurray!) and I’ve lost weight. I look forward to continuing this trend this year. I think I look nice, and I like looking nice; it makes me feel good. :)

Pinball became such a huge-thing in my life and 2017 felt like a big year in pinball for me since I decided to take a step in being more involved in the pinball community, with a slight nudge from my Belles & Chimes league leader, Echa, to sub-in and run one of our league meetings in her absence and taking pics and posting in our FB group page and Instagram (@bellesandchimes) - I think I did okay…I kinda started to slack towards the end of the year but I’ll do better this year. I have to. This was also the first year I became a league-member of the SF Pinball Department after at least a year of being on the waiting list. I even placed in the C-division this year and got an award! Next year, B-division!

But we didn’t just play pinball! Echa brought me with her to the Museum of Ice Cream and fellow Belle Julie and I had a night of champagne, oysters, and Ingrid Goes West! I made it a goal to get out there and do more, and I definitely think I did that. I went out to the movies more and remembered how much I actually really love going to the theatres and eating popcorn (and sometimes I can enjoy a Mighty Dry hard cider with it, too).

Definitely more of this in 2018. More for me. More playing pinball. More going to movies! Just more things that make me happy. Do better. Be better.
