just finished class story on lycaea a couple days ago (a replay obviously) and here are the letters she gets form the servants of the emperor. i’m posting them for future reference

she is perfectly fine never ever meeting the emperor, considering she only likes to hang around sith she thinks she could beat up. the others you have to treat to carefully around.

Wrath, we have an important matter to discuss. It is time you knew the secret of the Emperor's absence.

While you silenced Darth Baras, the Jedi attempted the impossible feat of destroying the Emperor. Instead, they merely defeated the Emperor's true Voice.

The unexpected blow was a shock. The Emperor's consciousness was wrenched from his Voice. He now slumbers, gathering his strength.

The Imperial Guard has moved the Emperor's body. As his Wrath, you will soon be called upon to rain fury on the Emperor's attackers.

okay so i see. that’s how they did the canon thing with the weirdness around the emperor. one of the emperor mummies was his true voice.

lycaea, meanwhile, is happy with this development, because if the emperor is out of the picture she has more freedom to disobey orders without fear of horrible death.

so externally, she would be like “oh, yes, emperor’s dead, so sad, i’ll get vengeance right away”

internally, she would be like “party time”.

Also I need to keep in mind the servants want her to get vengeance if she meets the jedi who killed/attempted to kill the emperor.

The Emperor's recovery continues. But while he slumbers, his Wrath is needed more than ever.

The Empire echoes with whispered rumors of the Emperor's weakness. Baras was the first of many Sith to grow bold in our master's absence. Some even suspect the Emperor's death.

It is the duty of the Wrath to silence these rumors.

Show the Empire your incredible strength. Devastate your enemies in the Emperor's name. Only then will the transgressors bow to you in awe and renew their devotion to our master.

while the emperor is not here to give orders, Lycaea is perfectly content taking these “silence these dissenters” as “”““suggestions”““.  she and the servants of the emperor are about to get along very poorly

so senya doesn’t sound super torn up about vaylin’s death (the letter you get after vaylin dies)

I'm sending you this because I'm not ready to talk about my daughter's death in person. Sometimes it's easier this way. Speaking the words out loud makes it more real. More painful.

I know Vaylin was damaged. I blame Valkorion for that. I blame myself. I know she left you no other option, and I don't blame you for her death. She had to be stopped. We did the right thing. But she was still my daughter, and it still hurts.

Sometimes, I remember her as a little girl. She was everything to me back then. But I lost her. And no matter how hard I tried, I never got her back. Yet some part of me still hoped for a miracle. Some part of me hoped she would come back to me as the daughter I once knew.

Now that she's truly gone, I know that will never happen. It's a terrible thing for a mother to face, but I've accepted it. I don't have any choice. We still have work to do. I promise you I will be ready

I don’t know whether this is a Senya thing (and she actually would only accept vaylin if she was coming back to her as the daughter she once knew and current vaylin is gone to her) or the writers just wanting Vaylin to be dead and wanting to construe it as the correct “merciful” action so they are putting these words in her mouth

i mean there could be, in the hands of a competent writer, some interesting dynamics if we’re supposed to believe Senya was kind of chasing after past-Vaylin and not really getting present Vaylin, and it could fit in with Vaylin’s whole “i’ll never be what you want” thing she says in chapter.... 1 of kotet or 16 of kotfe? w/ vaylin bein conscientious of that fact and them having this gap they could either get past or wind up staying separated

but either way these are most certainly not competent writers and no matter what, senya shouldn’t be sounding so apathetic about vaylin’s death.

this kind of fits into what i know i was saying to a friend that kotfeet is so..... so cliquey (all the characters we are supposed to like like the alliance and the outlander) and horrifically ableist (obviously even senya wouldn’t be upset with the person who killed her daughter because she’s mentally ill and broken and bad now according to the writers)

There was a setback for a short time when Shuuru claimed you were somehow involved in the collapse of a major undersea facility of some sort on Manaan. Naturally, when asked if our people could mount a thorough investigation of the facility to determine cause, he retracted his official complaint.

I was saddened to hear of the death of Colonel Darok. I knew the man well. Decisive, courageous, and quite smart. I know you worked with him on Korriban to send a bold message to the Empire. I am sure his loss is felt by you as well.

We should meet sometime. The Republic is strong, but there is always more that can be done to bolster our position even more. I would love to hear what you would have to say about it.

sacrifices (lana’s letter after chap 8) just noting for character stuff

We'll be arriving in Odessen soon. I don't know when we'll have a moment to simply talk, but I need to get something off my chest. I knew going into this fight, sacrifices would be necessary. Such is the nature of war. But seeing the damage you suffered at Arcann's hands... You should be dead. I spent the last five years searching for you because I knew you were our only hope for victory, but I didn't think about the toll it might take on you. Koth did. He's always harping on those things. All I cared about was rescuing you so that you could rescue us. I wonder if that was unfair of me. Please know that I never take what you endure for granted. No matter what happens, the galaxy will be forever in your debt.

Hey, remember me? We chatted on the docks of Raider's Cove and I lived to tell the tale!

Well, okay, now it turns out you weren't a pirate after all, so maybe I wasn't in (as much?) danger from you, but still! The relief I felt after you walked away and I was still breathing? That was intense!

Everyone's still talking about the whirlwind you caused. Not just the stuff with Gorro and Grumm here in the Cove but shaking up the Nova Blades and those folks across the way with the camps and all the ships! We get a lot of excitement around here, but I think we'll all be anxious for a bigger batch of crazy for a long time to come, thanks to you.

Wherever you are and whatever you're up to now, I hope you're rocking someone else's world the way you did with us!

I witnessed your defiance of Darth Marr, both in the field and the command center.

This is the only personal contact that many of us have had with members of the Republic. We are intrigued. You assert your will through personal strength alone.

the difference is that tank was objecting to darth marr torturing people, random imperial guy, not trying to win a pissing contest or assert her personal strength.

I got eyes all over the place, and a friend just told me the most interesting story.

Said he was on Hoth, scavenging in the starship graveyard, when he hears this deafening roar. Suddenly, an Eternal Fleet warship lands on the ice, less than a kilometer away. After a few minutes, the airlock opens and a droid steps out. Then it stares at the frozen wasteland. For an hour. Just taking in the scenery.

Then the droid got back into the vessel and took off. That was the end of that. My friend can't make heads or tails of it, and neither can I. Gives me the creeps.
