Roxy was always more comfortable in a classroom. She needed the structure of tasks and standards, and the familiar rhythms of learning. She squeezed her hands behind her back, then abruptly let go, still not used to the feeling of her own skin, or rather the place where her skin used to be. Swaying slightly on the spot, she tried to focus on her breathing: That, of all the sounds and textures of her body, was more or less the same.
In, out. In, out. In, I can’t do this in front of a real X-Man. out. In, No, I’m gonna show them what I can do, out. In, out.
She was going to do her best. And when had that not been enough?

Do you think that you’re a good person?
“Ha! Hahahahahahahahahah...nope. Not by a long shot.”
Do you think that killing is ever justified?
“Yeah. Had to do it a few times myself. Take a life, save a few more. It’s the way the world works sometimes, even if no one wants to talk about it.”
Is euthanasia ever the right choice?
“...I honestly don’t know. My sister, she ain’t right in the head anymore. Barely remembers who I am. And she’s getting worse. If the day comes where she’s nothing...I’ll do what the doctor says. She deserves that much.”
Would you always be loyal to your loved ones even if they wronged you?
“They took me back for all the shit I did. I’ve always got theirs. Always.”

[ She’s casually riding a giant ant around on patrol. ]
.:neck deep:.
the entire escape feels like a blur, she isn’t quite sure how she makes it out, and yet the cool air is attempting bites at numb skin. no. not numb, everything is on fire. nerve endings lighting up like the grid of a city. she’s fighting the encroaching blackness, the kind that knocked her flat on her ass the first time before twisting her into something she wished she didn’t recognize. blood had caused the clothes she wore to stick to her like a second skin and she can feel the gouges in her face from amora’s nails healing all on their own. she knows what comes next. blackness, darkness sinking in to dead bones and letting out those more wicked desires she hides from the world.
there’s an evil in jubilation lee... and she knows it’s going to push its way out soon.
déjà vu. it’s actual déjà vu as she’s fumbling with her phone once more, trying to get someone to her as quick as possible. blood slicked fingers fumble to get off the lock screen. ‘ Call Remy!
her voice shakes like a quiet earthquake. the phone shakes even worse in her hands. but she can hear it ring as she stumbles out in the night, trying to get her bearings and not collapse into the black.
