One of the reasons I think Octavia and Gabriel would have been a more balanced relationship is that they both lost their true love, whereas Levitt's true love is Octavia. Just as Octavia's life truly began when she met Lincoln, Levitt's life truly began when he met Octavia. It's not very balanced, let's be honest. And even though Levitt has seen Octavia's entire life and knows about her relationship with Lincoln, it's still sad to deliberately get involved with someone for whom you'll never be true love. Even if I really love Levitt & Octavia.
