Sarah was a bit less than proud of America as of late, but she was never one to turn down free food and some fun in the sun. And after being cooped up all weekend, hanging out with other people sounded really nice in all honesty. So she slipped into a tank top and a pair of shorts before heading out with a bottle of water in her bag.
Most of the barbecue out there was definitely not Kosher, or even something that fit in her diet. But she found some smoked chicken and made a sandwich out of one of the dinner rolls. She walked around and ate, finally running into a familiar face once she finished. “Hey, happy Fourth. We love America and stuff, right?”

Lizzy had been up since 5 in the morning, helping set up the cookout and coordinating exactly how and when the fireworks will go off and trying to get a last minute firework permit because Kirk fucking forgot even though Lizzy told him to get one 12 times. She was running only on coffee and energy drinks and desperately wanted to sleep. Unfortunately, she was stuck at the front of her parent's booth in a festive costume waving an American flag. “Welcome! Please try our burgers that were blessed by Father Tim himself. There’s nothing more American than Jesus and hamburgers.”
