the sun sets on this chapter
close the book, even as she
burns the pages to cinders.
ashes following the wind.
wish i could be that free. that
heated. pick up the next book
and set my eyes upon a new end.

community is sacred: it saves lives
tell my parents i have a meeting.
a workshop. a gathering of poets.
my definition is ever-changing until
i call it friendship. a communion
where we eat each other’s words
and call it offering. something sacred.
the only safe space i know by heart.

an assortment of softness
gentle words in muted silence. pinky against
pinky. laughter living on pliable lips. pressed
palm. warmed flesh. soft breath. skin becoming
skin becoming something other than two people
looking to meld together beneath the moon’s
dusty hands.

the sleepless morning moon
i’m sitting at my desk in the dark
with the blinds open. staring up
into the night that still lingers.
we are both tired. waiting for a
sleep that evades our slow blinking
eyes. here, we are alone, yet together.

etching of a curious moon
she was too smooth, so they carved
craters in her skin. could not leave
such a pretty thing whole. untouched.
still, she hangs like lamplight. still we
are moths. an eclipse. whispers of wings
against all her broken pieces.
~K.T.
honey drizzle gaze
wanted you like bees are made to want
a flower’s sweet nectar. your eyes took
me for food instead. stuck my limbs in
all the spaces you left open. didn’t mind
becoming something sticky. as long as
we can become something synonymous
to a syrupy intimacy.

a self-love forecast
the temperature tomorrow will be
chilly. do yourself a favor. grab
a comfy blanket. make your favorite
soup. loaf like the cats do and curl
your spine into a chair and into a
cozy book. forget your obligations.
stay home today.
