Whumpmas in July 2026 Day 1: (Re)Introduce yourself

Hi!! Decided to use the template for this one c:

⛓️ Name: Libra (not my real name but close enough and what I've been going by online for many years now)

🩻 Pronouns: She/her (but they/them is also fine)

🪓Years of Whumpmas Participation: First time c:

⛓️ Favorite food: Anything with chicken to be honest. One of my favorite dishes to make is rice, chopped chicken, curry sauce and peas; easy and yummy

🩻 Average amount of sleep: Always too little or too much. Been working the morning/day shifts this week so the past few days I've gotten maybe 3-4 hours of sleep? (then took a long ass nap once home from work)

🪓 Dream Job: Speech-language pathologist. It's what I'm studying (only got 3 weeks worth of uni left that I'm hopefully doing in the spring) and what my goal is for now. So far I'm really liking it! (While I do want to be a published author I do not want to work as an author, if that makes sense)

⛓️ Username/blog meaning: I love whump. So it's a play on "[...] my beloved". I also really like the word "beloved"

🩻 Your blog's birthday: January 1st 2025 (but I've been on tumblr for about 4 years now i think)

🪓 Hobbies: writing, reading, watching tv shows, making videos. Baking on occasion. Taking naps

Whumpuary 2025 Day 2: how did you find the whump community?

To be frankly honest, I don't really remember? While this blog is new, my engagement in whump and the community is not.

But I think the pipeline looked something like this: I like writing stories -> I like writing stories of characters getting hurt -> I also like reading stories of characters getting hurt -> woah people are writing stories about characters getting hurt for events and prompts 👀 -> what are these things? I wanna do that too -> Tumblr has entered the chat -> (years later) Tumblr account has entered the chat

Oh, that's a good question... I think the first official whump event I participated in was Whumptober 2020. I made Lab Rats fics, or drabbles more like, about 100-500 words/day (it was an attempt at getting back into writing more that went... well not that great). I completed 26/31 days.

My first "successful" whump event, where I actually posted for all days I wanted to, was Whump Gifathon 2024 (posted here on my main).

My oldest events-ish I participated in was two years of Secret Santa over on ff.net (which for me at least prompted whump fics because of course that's what I wrote). I also made my own "advent calendar" back in 2016, which wasn't an whump event per se, it was just me, but it had a similar layout and turned out like 90% whumpy because I rarely, if ever, write non-whump lol.

Back in 2020 I was in one of my Musketeers phases and was thus reading a lot of Musketeers whump fics. So two of my favorite pieces from Whumptober 2020 that I remember reading are Whumptober 2020 The Musketeers by Aini NuFire and Whumptober 2020 by elbcw.
