I'm releasing a quick font called SKYFANG! It was inspired by the logo for a video game I have never played. It's licensed under the SIL Open Font License, which pretty much means you can use it anywhere with no fuss. You can download it here!

Skyfang has 3 styles. One where the speedlines imply movement going right, (a slightly sloppier) one going left, and one that combines the two into a sort of horizontally blurry look.

I created the speedline effect in a pretty lazy way, using a similar technique to Texturelabs' halftone or engraving effect and then hitting that with image trace. What's fun is that I can put other reactive tone patterns I've designed onto the letters to see how they look. I think they look neat!

The first ever use of Le Murmure is The Concrete Project, a stationary printed on thin concrete. You even can see that this is not the definitive version in the thin of the lowercase 'a' 😁. This project was quite a great way to have test print of the almost finished typefaces. Concrete proofs, you said? .
