Lucius is going to be a ghost haunting Ed, isn't he?

it’s a really popular trope in fanfic by this point but i do think it would work as a heartbreaking parallel of stede’s ghosts in the first season. i think even if lucius isn’t physically there, ed will be haunted anyway - by his grief, by the choices he’s making, the act he’s putting on. i’ve talked about lucius being the personification of stede’s heart and emotional compass, and so for him to appear to ed when ed is alone and no longer performing for the rest of his crew, it would be quite meaningful i think - especially if it’s in the cabin, because that is where stede welcomed ed into his heart (auxiliary wardrobe) the first time. anyway i can’t wait for ed to realise lucius didn’t die, because you cannot kill love like that once it’s already taken root. you can’t throw someone overboard and expect them to no longer see through you, to see to the heart of you, because it will claw its way back one way or another until you see it and accept it. lucius lives because stede’s love lives, and if lucius refuses to leave ed alone, it’s because that love never really left either. it’s all about the symbolism babey!!
