One of the only times I've broken down.
Lately my life has been changing rapidly. My friends are moving on in life. I just helped my buddy move into his college dorm. I'm getting ready to go to Europe. So much is changing. And it wasn't until the end of Hoppers letter he said "...stop that change. To turn back the clock. To make things go back to how they were..." I immediately broke down in tears. (still crying as I'm writing this) That one perfectly sums up exactly how I feel. And so does the next line "... But I know that's naive. It's just not how life works. It's moving , always moving, whether you like it or not...". Really the whole last part gets to me. It is as of right now the only quote from a movie or show that actually gets to me. Dealing with change is hard. But life is change. And change is ,more often than not, good.
So I think maybe that's why I came in here, to try and make stop that change. To turn back the clock. To make things go back to how they were. But I know that's naive. It's just not how life works. It's moving, always moving, whether you like it or not. And yeah, sometimes it's painful. Sometimes it's sad. And sometimes, it's surprising. Happy.
So you know what? Keep on growing up kid. Don't let me stop you. Make mistakes, learn from 'em. When life hurts you, because it will, remember the hurt. The hurt is good. It means you're out of that cave.
