After only 10 days I got here in the US, I decided to leave my hotel room and go out to look for a job. After only two weeks from my arrival, I started to work and I am very proud of it! I had found a job as teacher assistant- okay not the greatest of the jobs, but it was something to start with. Yet I needed to feel comfortable in a new country and in a new system; moreover, at the same time I also started to study again. I enrolled in an American college, a dream for many Europeans, to complete a Bachelor’s degree in Humanities. Additionally, after three weeks we found a house, where we moved right away even if all our things from Europe had not arrived yet. Therefore, we pretty much camped inside the house for three months….yes for three months we slept on an air mattress, we ate on paper plates, we lived in an empty house, and we used an re-used the same clothes that we had in those two suitcases. Oh and we also had to look for a car for myself and and wait for my hubby’s car to get here from Europe, and at 26 years I had to study AGAIN for a driving licence! It was sooooo hard I promise. The first months were so difficult, but I managed to get every piece together….slowly…
