dont get me wrong, jazzy oliver is great and she does a great job at voicing paintbrush, shes a good voice actor and i dont have any beef with her!
but.
i personally prefer taylor grodin's voice acting for paintbrush ❤️🩹❤️🩹
cuz i mean s2 is my fav anyway and i just kind of internalized his voice for them into my head. so now they just sound like that in my head and while i still thoroughly enjoy seeing them in new episodes and have no issue with jazzy's voice acting, it just feels kinda off because of the difference between how they sound now and how they sound in my head 😔 i mean that is just kinda what happens sometimes when characters have to have their va's changed. just thought of this and felt like sharing it
to be so honest i dont feel like jazzy tries that hard to voice paintbrush accurately but thats probably just my bias toward's taylor's voice acting
like the fact that their voice is different now kind of makes it feel like theyre different as a character and i dont rlly like that ❤️🩹❤️🩹 cuz like. the way a character is percieved has a lot to do with their voice, especially in this genre of show. It doesnt help that jazzy is a huge lightbrush fan too, and so any time i see paintbrush and lightbulb interacting now i cant help from cringing, even if theyre just interacting normally.
i feel like animationepic doesnt mind that paintbrush may be going in a different direction, but i dont think that it really suits them. Im going to enjoy the show regardless as it IS my special interest and so i will get some sort of fufillment out of it no matter what... but i hope they dont just drive them further away from who they were before. That would be sad to see imo
eeuuuuu it makes me sad that they seem to be kind of pushed aside now in the s4 episodes but im just gonna hope everything will be fine and enjoy my slop 🥹🥹 and hopefully nothing crazy happens (not gonna say what im thinking cuz i dont wanna jinx it) or else i WILL have a monumental crash out
