"Seek the sweetness of faith in three things: prayer, the remembrance of Allah, and the recitation of the Qur'an."

The best supplication is the supplication of the Day of Arafah.
And the best words that I and the prophets before me have said are:
“There is no god but Allah alone, with no partner.
To Him belongs all dominion, and to Him belongs all praise, and He is over all things capable.”
“O Allah, You are Most Forgiving, and You love forgiveness, so forgive me.”
“O Allah, I ask You for all goodness — immediate and delayed, what I know of it and what I do not know.
And I seek refuge in You from all evil — immediate and delayed, what I know of it and what I do not know.
O Allah, I ask You for the best of what Your servant and Prophet asked You for, and I seek refuge in You from the evil from which Your servant and Prophet sought refuge.
O Allah, I ask You for Paradise and for every word and deed that brings me closer to it, and I seek refuge in You from the Fire and from every word and deed that brings me closer to it.
And I ask You to make every decree You have written for me a source of goodness.”
If, on the evening of Arafah, you can only make three du’as — let them be these.
The first is pure tawheed, personally recommended by the Prophet ﷺ.
The second: if Allah forgives you, you will never truly be lost.
And the third gathers every good you could ever ask for, and protection from every evil you could ever fear.
What greater honor than asking Allah for every good His Prophet ﷺ asked for?
And what greater safety than seeking refuge in Allah from every evil His Prophet ﷺ sought refuge from?
The truly blessed in the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah
is the one who realizes that these days are treasures of reward, and that righteous deeds performed in them are more beloved to Allah than at any other time. So they strive sincerely, purify their intentions, and make the most of these blessed days. For they are only a few precious moments — whoever plants acts of obedience in them will harvest Allah’s pleasure and forgiveness.
Whosoever disbelieves will suffer from his disbelief, and whosoever does righteous good deeds (by practising Islamic Monotheism), then such will prepare a good place (in Paradise) for themselves (and will be saved by Allah from His Torment)
The blessed first ten nights of Dhul Hijjah have begun — all praise is due to Allah who allowed us to witness these sacred days.
Part of showing gratitude to Allah for reaching such blessed seasons is to fill them with acts of worship. So it is only fitting that we strive in them with whatever draws us closer to Allah, while being especially cautious of sins and disobedience.
Among the important things a Muslim should give attention to:
• Setting a goal to complete a full recitation of the Qur’an. If one reads three juz’ each day, they can finish a complete khatm, by Allah’s permission.
• Increasing in the remembrance of Allah. One of the prescribed remembrances in these days is takbeer, so it is good for a Muslim to learn when the takbeer begins and the authentic forms in which it is said.
• Fasting during these ten days if possible. Fasting all of them is خير, and fasting some of them is also خير — but special care should be given to fasting the Day of ‘Arafah.
And the best way to welcome these blessed days is with sincere repentance. Sins stand between a servant and acts of worship, but whoever repents, turns back to Allah, and increases in seeking forgiveness — Allah opens doors of goodness for them.
And do not neglect du‘a. Allah سبحانه وتعالى commanded us to call upon Him, and He only commands us because He wants to give us. He is the Most Generous, the Most Kind.
I ask Allah to help us remember Him, thank Him, and worship Him in the best manner; and to grant us success in making the most of these blessed ten days and all our time until we meet Him سبحانه وتعالى.
I love Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him), and I love the beautiful connection between him and Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
I think about his supplication while building the Kaaba:
“Our Lord, send among them a Messenger from themselves…”
And Allah answered his prayer with the Master of Messengers, Muhammad ﷺ. The Kaaba remained, and all the sacred rites connected to it became among the greatest symbols of the Ummah of Muhammad ﷺ.
And during Al-Isra and Al-Mi‘raj, Prophet Ibrahim said to him:
“Convey my peace to your nation.”
Imagine… the Close Friend of Allah sends peace upon us.
And Prophet Muhammad ﷺ described him saying:
“The person who resembles him the most is your companion,”
meaning he even resembled him in appearance.
No one was granted the مقام of intimate friendship with Allah except them both:
“Indeed, Allah has taken me as a close friend, just as He took Ibrahim as a close friend.”
And one of the most beautiful answers to Ibrahim’s supplication:
“And grant me an honorable mention among later generations,”
is that we send prayers upon him alongside Muhammad ﷺ in every prayer. In fact, this is among the most beautiful forms of sending blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ.
Such a deep and tender connection… one that can bring tears to the eyes.
O Allah, send Your peace and blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, as You sent Your peace and blessings upon Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim. Indeed, You are Praiseworthy and Glorious.
And bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, as You blessed Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim. Indeed, You are Praiseworthy and Glorious.
“As long as you are awake, what prevents you from illuminating the darkness of the night with prayers and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, and breaking the silence with abundant seeking of forgiveness?
How deeply we are in need of that…” ✨
