that scene in the Udon prision, when they bring Kid back in after he escaped, hit me so fucking hard. Until that moment Kid is little more than a hotheaded bastard, he had his small little things that made him an interesting one, but his main characteristics were being loud, violence and a short temper. But when they bring him back he is so subdued it was like a punch to the gut. The guards surrounding him are calling him stupid and making fun of him and he does not heed them. He only has eyes for his friend, and worry and concern for him. And not only that but, specifically, his emotional wellbeing. He knows that something’s wrong but he can’t tell what and it’s eating at him. And that’s so different from the personality we saw so far it’s like you’re suddenly seeing a different person, in a sense. 

And while that whole scene was somewhat heartwrenching it’s also kind of hilarious that Kid turned out to be a pretty sensible dude.
