back when mob psycho 100 was yet to air its final final season of anime i was mindlessly scrolling down tumblr and saw a post that was describing something or other mp100 related

thinking back on it it must have been a fic premise cuz a person was talking about how the ???% was an alien from another galaxy that chose mob as his host, and that's why he's the most powerful esper ever and that at the end of the series the alien leaves back to his home planet

at the time i had negative context for the whole thing so I took it at face value. i was like huh. a weird direction for the series to go but i guess there is that one alien loving girl in the series so maybe the show will do something interesting?

in any case the last season drops, im making my way through it, mob gets hit by that car, destroys half the city, concludes every emotional beat, reaches tsubomi, there are 3 minutes left in the last episode

and the whole time im thinking "my god. and they still have to deal with that alien reveal"

#when i tell you i was so nervous #i couldnt enjoy the beautifully crafted story because i was thinking that they were gonna drop that alient thing on me with no foreshadowin #like!!!#what was that post!!!#i wholeheartedly thought i had the ending spoiled #and experienced the entire series thinking mob is the host of an alien #my fucking goddd #experience second only to watching pride and prejudice and they are in that meadow and mr darcy proposes and they get the fathers permissio #and i think #my god #at last the plot will start #and then the credits rolled #absolutely unmatched dissonance #(for the record i love p&p its just that on my first watch i interpreted that aunt as an enemy to be defeated)#(i thought liz and darcy were gonna defeat her. whatever that means do not look at me)#(i have never heard of romance before)

i dont need therapy i need to fall asleep under 20 ft of snow and be reborn again in the spring new clean fresh and unwounded
