...I just found what I would considering an underappreciated moment, or rather a moment that’s just... not as fair/effective in English.
And it’s only come up because I watched one of the Descubre con Tadeo shorts again and just like-- Then I checked the moment in Spanish and... something unappreciated is just...

And... I just want to talk for a moment about mimicking.
AND SPECIFICALLY HOW ENGLISH DONE THIS DISSERVICE!
Like, here’s the thing. I’ve been told, and have experience, that there’s one thing that I’m... rather good at. And apparently it’s enough to be something that’s-- actually a diagnosis criteria?!
And that’s accents in voice, language, and mimicking sounds & voices.
Sooo, hold up... let me back up a bit. I’ve been told a few times I have an American accent(despite being born and raised in Australia), and it’s apparently a thing, that multi-lingual people with Autism have less of an accent(sometimes none to natural) in the languages they know... And well, voice acting. Let me tell you, I have-- many voices that I get into when I’m playing and can mimic sounds--
What’s with me posting about this moment and bringing this up?
Well. ENGLISH DID IT DIRTY!
All he does is just kind of drop his voice/even it out, but conversely-- in Spanish... and the Descubre con Tadeo short-- his voice mocking/mimicry of Tad is... really close, like-- he could actually trick you and pull off Tadeo! You can just fall for the mimic!
Arguably that could be their voices are already a fair bit closer in Spanish(to my ears anyway), although Mummy’s is a pitch or timbre higher and he speaks much faster! Buuuut-- like, this is a thing, that I’ve heard/seen, and just--
I have emotions about it!
Mummy should be able to mimic Tadeo and others, or animal sounds, just like-- LET HIM! Please! Let him be the sound mimic!
