I still can’t get over how many times they showed June’s reaction to Nick in this episode.

Like it’s insanely much, especially considering they could’ve easily skipped it. One moment during the wedding where she sees him with his wife? That would’ve been enough. But they chose to focus on it over and over again. Why?

Why did they show her hurting when he says vows about his only child? Why show her staring at him from the dinner table? Why include that moment where she walks past him and clearly wants to go up to him? The second she saw him, I knew who she was looking at. It was impossible not to know. That gaze was for Nick.

And then he reacted too like a small flinch, like he felt her presence. I watched this entire episode just sitting there in shock at how often they showed June reacting to Nick, in an episode that wasn’t even about them.

And the thing is her reactions are ambiguous. They’re layered. One moment she looks like she’s in pain, then like she’s angry, then like she’s still in love. They’re giving us space to interpret it, but the fact remains: their story is far from over.

There were so many signals, in places where they didn’t even need to be. I’m still freaking out. Like, what was that? That was insane.
