unfortunately bkdk is insane bc like. canonically their relationship defies any attempt at defining it. they're childhood friends except they're also childhood enemies except can it be called enemies when midoriya only ever wanted to reach out a hand while bakugou didn't know how to accept it? they're rivals, they compete with each other, and they push each other to be better through that competition and butting of heads. they don't know how to live without one another but for so long, they didn't know how to live with one another either. they respect the other's mom deeply even while hating one another, except it wasn't hate, except it was. bakugou - who has only ever cared about his own betterment and success - would die for midoriya. and midoriya - who saw hope for even shigaraki, who wanted to save him, even after all he did - would kill for bakugou. they're not friends, exactly. but they certainly aren't enemies anymore either. they're not lovers, but they're soulmates forcibly tied together with a blood-red string. they're midoriya and bakugou, they're izuku and katsuki, they're deku and kacchan. what else is there to say about them that could possibly encapsulate all they are?
