À moins d'être le fiston de Joseph Wayne McVey, choisir Lil Ro comme surnom relève un peu du crime de lèse-majesté pour n'importe quel rappeur du Lone Star State. Sauf que le mec n'a pas grandi à Houston, mais à Corpus Christi, 350 bornes plus au sud, et s'est installé à Vallejo en 2003, alors disons qu'on lui pardonne. D'autant qu'il prend bien soin de rendre hommage à la Screwed Up Click et d'inviter un de ses plus célèbres représentants (encore en vie, du moins) quand il vient faire des tours en voiture à Space City. Respect de la tradition locale, drank et grosses bagnoles, tout en consolidant aussi les connexions avec la Bay, qu'elles soient reunoi ou latino. Rien d'étonnant donc à apercevoir Baby Bash dans #leclipdujour, lui qui opère depuis si longtemps entre V-Town et H-Town. Ni à ce que Ro mette à profit cette double culture lorsqu'il remplace le sirop texan par la weed californienne pour s'aventurer vers des mélodies G-funk sans refrains ralentis :
