How does one know if their submission has been received?

As it says in the rules & guidelines, you’ll get a confirmation email within 48 hours after the deadline. The deadline is 11:59 p.m. (EST) August 1, 2014, so you should receive confirmation by the morning of Aug. 4.

UPDATE: The deadline has been extended ONE WEEK, to 11:59 p.m. (EST) August 8, 2014, so you should receive confirmation by August 11.

Hello tumblr friends,               I am excited to report that my new comic, Wastes of Space, will be available this Wednesday, January 22, on Comixology. It will cost $2 and can be purchased either through the Comixology app available on most mobile phones or through the Comixology website www.comixology.com Wastes of Space is a humorous sci-fi tale set in the future about three strangers caught in the midsts of a galactic civil war. I would appreciate any support that can be given to this book whether it's a purchase or just a repost so that I can continue making it.        I would also like to take this time to sincerely thank all of my friends and followers for all of the support you give me. I could never have made this comic without you. When I first started out on tumblr I was just rediscovering my artistic side after many years of deabilitating depression which I won't go into other than to say please seek help if you feel you may need it because I waited to do so way longer than I should have because I'm a man and too tough to admit to being depressed and blah blah blah.... Anyway, as I posted my naescent drawings that I thought only my friends and family would take notice of I began to attract new friends and family, my tumblr friends and family. It was, and still is to some extent, amazing to me that someone I didn't know would like my work. I had published some small press stuff back during the 'zine explosion of the nineties but with little notice despite fair reviews so I expected very little. In fact I expected nothing other than to dump stuff from my "archives" and be done with it.      A funny thing happened though, as I posted I started to get positive feedback that encouraged me to draw more and post more. The more I drew the better I got, the more I posted the more encouragement I got, the more encouragement I got the more confident I got. The other big thing that happened during this time was that I rediscovered comic books and plunged head first back into that world (also slightly due to tumblr but mainly due to friends talking about them nonstop but definitely reinforced by the many great comic book tumblr sites!). I hadn't purchased a comic in nearly thirty years and hadn't drawn one in almost twenty. But, the more I read and the more I drew the more I began to have ideas for comics of my own. So that's how this comic came about and why I feel I have a lot to thank tumblr for especially as it regards this comic.      Before I go I would like to thank some of my tumblr friends for their continued support and inspiration.
