Hello again. I have uploaded the last of the primary images I want to upload from NDK this past weekend. There will be a few stragglers but the best I feel I've taken are posted.
There are also several that features participants in a preliminary for the World Cosplay Summit including the winners of the preliminaries, Lilacwire and Teca doing Terra and Kefka from Final Fantasy Dissidia.
Other notables include ChicagoTed and Preezerk as Hawke and Varric from Dragon Age 2. These two worked tirelessly to make sure their cosplays were true to character and it shows.
I'll soon be working on uploading the images to Tumblr and queuing them up for display and whatnot. Should be very soon.
**Note to Models** If you see images of yourself and you would like a copy without an obtrusive watermark. Feel free to send me a message. I just need to confirm you are the model and will be happy to share a copy where the watermark is present but less noticeable.
I call the first photo: Through the looking glass. It took several shots to get the hands lined up well and this is one of the best! I really wanted to portray a the Kaylees looking through a mirror at each other and seeing their other half on the other side.
I loved playing with the reflection of the Shindig Kaylee in the glass. For me it helps portray how Kaylee really wants to be a belle at the ball even when she's working on Serenity's engines.

I make up a LOT of shit while sewing. A hobby like cosplay means you may take on a costume that throws several different curve balls all at once at you...and you gotta figure them out or the costume won't look right.
This weekend I was constructing a bodice for my Pinkie Pie costume. The reference photo includes scallops where the candy is, but I kept thinking if I simply gathered it the look would be accurate.
Reference:
My feeble attempt:
After staring at it for a stupid long time I decided that come hell or high water, I was going to give that white area more shape. As I'd already sewn the ruffles in to the bodice and I am incredibly lazy, I sketched out scallops directly on to my final fabric and using my handy satin stitch, sewed in some curves.
Yeah, I draw all over my good fabric in pen.
I'm totally unsure if this is how anyone else would carve shape into their outfit, but since I didn't have a lining on this white ruffle and I didn't want to try and hem it, I figured I'd give this a try. I'm super glad I did, though, since I think it turned out fabulously.
And it is STILL the ugliest bodice in history. :D
How would you have done it?
